A major search is set to find the next Darna!
On March 21, radio hosts Marc Logan and Amy Perez asked their “Sakto” listeners to name some actress who they think could follow Angel Locsin’s portrayal as Darna.
Topping the poll is the “My Ex and Whys” star Liza Soberano. With her stunning beauty, Liza must be the perfect on to play the role of the iconic character.
Tied at second spot are Nadine Lustre and the Unkabogable Box-office Star Vice Ganda. Listeners who voted for Vice Ganda said that “Darna” will become an instant hit if he would top-bill it.
At thrid are Maja Salvador, Yassi Pressman and Pia Wurtzbach. Recently, the Miss Universe 2015 expressed her interest to do the red-and-gold costume.
The others who were mentioned were “It’s Showtime” host Anne Curtis, Jessy Mendiola and MJ Lastimosa.
“Darna” was first announced by Star Cinema and would be played by Angel Locsin. However, in 2016, the Action-Drama Queen announced that she had developed a spinal disc bulge. On May 20, Star Cinema and Angel have come to a mutual decision to cancel her portrayal and find a next Darna instead.
