Vic Sotto jokingly apologizes to Vice Ganda after viral ‘Ganda’ remark on ‘Eat Bulaga’

A lighthearted joke from veteran host Vic Sotto became one of the most talked-about moments on the June 10 episode of ‘Eat Bulaga’ after he playfully apologized to Vice Ganda on live television.

The amusing exchange happened during the show’s segment, ‘The Age Is Right,’ which featured viral TikTok personality Jericho “Baet” Pacinos from Vinzons, Camarines Norte.

Baet recently gained online fame through his comedic videos assigning new names to everyday objects and fruits, including an orange he renamed “Sharmaine,” a trend that quickly spread across social media.

During his guest appearance, the hosts asked Baet what new name he would give co-host Ryzza Mae Dizon.

Without hesitation, Baet initially answered, “Nicole.”

Ryzza, however, quickly pointed out that Nicole was already the name of her older sister.

“Ate ko Nicole na eh, huwag na po,” she said.

The playful exchange prompted the hosts to encourage Baet to think of another name. After taking a closer look at Ryzza, he eventually suggested “Ganda.”

The answer immediately drew laughter from the studio audience and fellow hosts.

“Oo, andiyan na rin naman eh. Tawagin na nating ‘Ganda,’” Baet said.

Joining in on the fun, Ryzza jokingly embraced the new nickname.

“Ganda, Ganda na lang,” she quipped.

The moment became even more hilarious when Vic Sotto referenced Vice Ganda, the longtime host of rival noontime program It’s Showtime.

“Sorry, Vice Ganda, may pantapat na kami sa ’yo,” Vic joked, sending the audience and his co-hosts into another round of laughter.

The playful remark quickly made the rounds online, with some netizens even dubbing Ryzza as “Ryzza Ganda” and “Ryzza Mae Ganda.”

As of writing, Vice Ganda has yet to publicly react to the joke.

Meanwhile, Ryzza has recently been making headlines for her candid revelations during her guest appearance on ‘Toni Talks’ hosted by Toni Gonzaga.

The former child star shared an emotional childhood experience involving a neighbor who once told her that a valuable vase was “worth more than her life” after she accidentally damaged it while playing.

Years later, Ryzza revealed a surprising twist to the story—after achieving success in show business, she eventually purchased the same property when it was put up for sale.

She also disclosed that during the final years of ‘Eat Bulaga’s’ previous management, she was reportedly among the personalities being considered for removal from the show, a difficult chapter she overcame with the support of veteran hosts TVJ.
