- “Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Season 4” grand winner Myrtle Sarrosa recently added another feather on her cap as she had just graduated from college.
- The cosplayer also graduated with honors too, she’s a BA Broadcast Communication cum laude from University of the Philippines, Diliman.
- She’s forever thankful to all the people who had helped her to get where she is right now.
- She’s grateful to the ones who had also inspired her to achieve her life goals.
Despite the many struggles and challenges she had to face, Myrtle Sarrosa values the friendship she had with her former fellow PBB Teen housemates and most especially to her closest friend, Nadine Lustre.
Myrtle wants to become an inspiration to her fellow artists. She says it’s never too late to achieve one’s goals. All these years she has tried to juggle between work and the academics.
She believes that if you’re passionate about something, everything will turn out magic. Nothing is impossible to a willing mind.
Myrtle had always wanted to work behind the camera.
“The reason why I took up BA Broadcast Communication is because I love telling stories and inspiring people through media. Siguro if I have a chance, I’d like to work with fellow passionate producers to work behind the camera,” said Myrtle in an interview done by ABS-CBN.
Her showbiz friends immediately sent their congratulatory messages the minute they heard about her graduation.
Nadine Lustre was one of them.
“Nakakatuwa that a lot of my fellow artists from the industry messaged me right after they saw me graduate. Si Nadine, kaibigan ko na ‘yan since we were both 14 because we both do cosplay,” she beams.
“Nadine said she’s proud of me. For the longest time, ‘di kami nagkikita kasi nag-aral nga ako while working but despite it all, she would always give a listening ear sa akin when I need a friend so I was so happy when she was one of the first ones to congratulate me,” Myrtle added.
Other artists who sent in their greetings were Coleen Garcia, Gab Valenciano, Jugs Jugueta, Dawn Chang, Ria Atayde and Mikee Agustin. “Most of them, to be honest, hindi ko expected that they’d messaged me. But I am flattered and grateful sa kanila,” she said.
Myrtle wants to become an inspiration to her fellow artists to finish college.
“Sa totoo lang when you’re already working, you sometimes lose the desire to go to college. But college education is the best investment for your future. You don’t have to go to college just to get done with them. You should always have the desire to learn kasi education is continuous. There are so many things na hindi mo alam at hindi mo pa alam. I know that a lot of my fellow artists would want to go back to school but natatakot bumalik or oras ang kalaban nila to study. Pero I just want to tell them that it’s never too late to go back. Wala naman itong age limit,” explained Myrtle.
She also adds: “You should always pursue your passion. I think ‘yung biggest risk ko talaga was when I skipped my finals when I was still studying Accountancy in UP Visayas to audition for PBB. Kasi before nag-aral ako but I wasn’t happy. But after PBB, when I came back to study Mass Comm, it made me realize na if you’re passionate about something, there’s magic. Kasi kahit nahihirapan ka but you’re enjoying what you’re doing, kaya lahat. The work you put in, the time, the effort and the sacrifices will be all worth it at hindi mo mararamdaman ang pagod.”
Now that she’s tucked a degree, she will be busy working for La Luna Sangre and will soon be working for two movies under Regal films.
“Ang galing lang kasi opportunities really come in God’s time. Kailangan mo lang to have faith in His plans for you,” ends Myrtle.
