Fast-rising RnB diva Mica Javier launched her new single Renegade on ABS-CBN’s It’s Showtime last May 26.
Culled from her previously-released Dreamer album, the upbeat dance ditty speaks of women empowerment—a timely call to action and an equally inspiring message of awakening.
A self-confessed rogue, Mica admits, “I’m definitely my own renegade in a sense where I really do fight for what I want and for what is right.”
“Renegade empowers women by reminding them of that natural inner strength and their ability to own their womanhood, which often times can be hindered by society’s standards and customs. With this song, I want women to unapologetically be who they truly are and go for whatever they want in life. There is no box for women, we can be and do anything. We hold up half of the sky.”
Still reeling from her gripping and trend-setting live TV performance, Mica remains equally ecstatic over the rave reviews and shoutouts from Kapamilya friends and supporters, including Vice Ganda, Billy Crawford, and of course, her avid fan, producer and major squeeze, RnB King Jay-R.
Mica is all set to embark on her follow-up promotional blitz for her new single.
She says, “We have a Homeworkz Original Music Only Bar Tour on-going and our next show is June 1st, where I’ll be performing it live along with other original songs. I’m also lining up a few other mall shows, radio tours, and events to promote my music off the Dreamer album. MYX just premiered the Renegade music video recently, so there will be efforts to get that video on the charts.”
