Two days after the funeral of Kian Delos Santos, his parents went to Malacanang to meet and thank the President for his assurance that justice will be served for Kian.
The meeting was held last Monday at the Malacanang clubhouse together with DOJ Sec. Vitaliano Aguirre, PAO Chief Percida Acosta, and VACC Chairman Dante Jimenez, a well known supporters of the President and his war on drugs. In a widely circulated photo of the meeting, the parents were seen doing the tradition fist bump with the president.
While Kian’s parents seemed relieved with the President’s assurance for justice, the visit was received with mixed reactions from the netizens.
Many shared their concerns that it might water down the case knowing the President’s stand on war on drugs. Others also pointed out the biases of Aguirre, Acosta, and Jimenez which may affect the case.
