Kris Bernal admitted that she is frustrated on not receiving any acting award especially for her dual role in the GMA Network afternoon series, Impostora as both Nimfa and Rosette.
Kris also remarked that she thinks and feels like she has not yet become an official actress without the validation from an award-giving body.
Kris shared that she has to explore thoroughly for spending years in showbiz.
“Parang dun ko pa lang matatanggap ang mga sinasabi ng mga tao na, ‘Ay, magaling ka.’ Ngayon feeling ko parang baguhan pa rin ako na nangangapa.”
She also admitted the feeling of frustration without any recognition from her hard work.
“Siyempre napu-frustrate ako.”
Then, Kris added that she gives her best in focusing the attention on her craft. She also added that she challenges herself for difficult roles to maybe win some awards.
“Yeah, every time naman na I’m given a show, I always give my best kasi. Talagang buong oras ko, pino-focus ko ang attention ko sa taping. At first, it was Little Nanay, parang nag-expect ako sa Little Nanay kasi it’s something different. Hindi normal ang character ko, pero hindi ko siya nakuha. Tapos ‘eto rin, gumanap ako ng kakaiba rin, pero hindi ko pa rin siya nakuha.”
Kris disclosed out that she has done everything for people to recognize.
“Hindi ko na alam, ano pa ba ang role na puwede akong ma-recognize o makakuha ng award? Parang ginagawa mo naman ang best mo, binibigyan ka naman ng tamang project. Pero parang hindi mo alam kung ano ang kulang pa, may times na parang gusto kong mag-give up.”
“Minsan kasi, yun ang sinasabi ko, aktres lang ako kapag may award na ako. Parang dun ko pa lang matatanggap ang mga sinasabi ng mga tao na, ‘Ay, magaling ka.’ Doon ko pa lang siguro matatanggap na magaling ako. Ngayon feeling ko parang baguhan pa rin ako na nangangapa.”, she added.
Nonetheless, Kris also would never give up on trying for people to recognize and to finally receive an acting award. She also mentioned that she has been in the industry for a decade.
“Yun pa rin ang goal ko, kaya lang ilang taon kaya ako para magkaroon? Ten years na rin ako.”
Although Kris doesn’t feel any pressure, it just lets her want to work more.
“Hindi naman nakaka-pressure… Siyempre kapag may goal, gagawin mo ang lahat para makuha mo yun. Ako naman, siguro may mga time na nagiging pabaya rin ako sa mga eksena ko. Pero karamihan talaga kinakarir ko, ang hirap lang talaga na walang nangyayari.”
