ABS-CBN’s newest morning series “Sana Dalawa Ang Puso” instantly captivated the hearts of viewers as the series topbilled by daytime king and queen Richard Yap and Jodi Sta. Maria together with blockbuster king Robin Padilla, scored high in national TV ratings during its pilot telecast last Monday (June 29).
According to data from Kantar Media, the show hit a national TV rating of 19.9% from combined urban and rural homes, or more than thrice the rating of its rival program “Lola’s Beautiful Show,” which only recorded 6.1%.
“Thank you, Kapamilya, for joining us in our pilot episode. We assure you that we will make you enjoy, laugh, cry, and feel ‘kilig,’” said Jodi in her interview with Richard in “Tonight with Boy Abunda.”
“For the viewers here in the Philippines as well as in other countries, we promise to bring back the hope and love we brought you before. We hope that you will make this a morning habit again,” stated Richard.
Aside from its strong viewership, the episode’s official hashtag #SanaDalawaAngPusoGo trended on Twitter nationwide as fans shared positive feedback about the show’s cast, director, plot, and production.
In the pilot episode, viewers got a glimpse of the lives of identical strangers, Mona and Lisa (Jodi). Mona lives life with a ‘one time big time’ mentality, while Lisa’s life revolves around keeping her cosmetic business Laurea in the market. However, problems started to surface when the networking business Mona’s father entered suddenly shut down, while Juancho, Lisa’s father, betrothed her to a son of their longtime rival, Martin (Richard).
How will Mona help her father pay his debts? Will the arranged marriage between Lisa and Martin happen?
