- Alice Dixson was unaware that FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano used the Dantes family’s photos in the show.
- Dingdong Dantes noted that the photos were featured without the consent of his family and their photographer.
- ABS-CBN also released an official statement on the said matter.
Alice Dixson said that she was unaware that the production team of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano used and edited the photos of the Dantes family. Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera’s wedding photo was used and edited into Edu Manzano and Alice’s faces. Meanwhile, another photo of Zia Dantes’ baptismal was used.
This time, Dingdong and Marian’s faces were edited into Joko Diaz and Mickey Ferriols. Zia’s face, however, was not touched.
Alice apologizes
Alice recently found out that the photoshopped wedding photo of her and Edu Manzano in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano were actually of Dingdong and Marian’s. The superimposed photo came out in an episode aired on August 8, Wednesday.
“Oh! Hindi ko alam na picture nila ‘yun. Alam ko na-photoshop ‘yung picture ng face namin ni Edu sa isang picture ng mag-asawang kinasal. But I don’t know anything about kung sino ‘yung pinalitan naming mukha. I hope there was no problem.”
She also apologized for the production’s use of Dingdong and Marian’s wedding photo.
“Oo, kahit naman ako masa-sadden ako. Pero ako, personally, I didn’t know that it was their photo. There was no trace of their faces or anything personal aside from siguro dun sa damit nila.”
She apologized too to Dingdong for the photo fiasco.
“Humihingi ako ng paumanhin, Dong, if our production made a mistake like that. Kahit naman ako, if it was my wedding photo, ayoko naman gamitin ng ibang tao. If there’s other eksena na magagamit ‘yun, I’ll make sure na they’ll do something about it.”
Dingdong calls out FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano
In earlier reports, a fan of Dingdong and Marian recognized the edited photos. The said images were inserted in the said series twice in different episodes without any permission from the owners—the Danteses and the photographer. Dingdong recently took to social media to respond to the said matter.
In his personal Facebook account, Dingdong noted that the photographs were featured without the consent of his family and their photographer.
“Last week, the DongYanatics has brought to my attention that photos of our family were used and altered for a primetime television show. In two episodes of Ang Probinsyano, our wedding photo and a photo taken during Zia’s baptism were edited and featured without the consent of our photographer and our family.
“I have been deeply thinking about disclosing my response to the public. However, I owe it to the DongYanatics, to other friends who also expressed their concern, and to our family, to share our action regarding this.”
ABS-CBN’s official statement
ABS-CBN released an official statement on the said matter. In the statement, the production team behind FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano apologized to the Dantes family. They said that they are conducting further investigation to prevent a similar incident.
“”FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” apologizes to Dingdong Dantes and his family and assures that there was no intent to disrespect or offend him and his family in the use of their photos in the program. The production team commissioned a third-party contractor to create the photo props used in the program. It was not aware that the original of the photographs used were those from Mr. Dantes’ wedding and the baptism of his daughter. The program is conducting further investigation to prevent a similar incident from happening in the future.”
