Inday Will Always Love You recently announced its second season with a press conference on August 16, Thursday. In the said event, comedian Tekla’s sexuality became a topic.
Story
In the series, Tekla plays a character named Madam Kimberlou who has a crush on Kimpoy Feliciano‘s character Frank.
Sexuality
Tekla, or Romeo Librada in real life, revealed that he is actually a straight man.
“Lalaki talaga ako. 100% guy ako.”
Librada acknowledged that others mistake him as gay.
“Nabuhay ako sa comedy bar kaya na-adapt ko ‘yung pag-iisip na how to be gay. Honestly, once gay ka, gagapang at gagapang ang kamay mo. Ako, hindi, never.”
Tekla does not deny that he once tried to have sexual dalliance with another man.
“Sinubukan ko na ‘yung sarili ko kung bakla ba talaga ako [pero] walang spark [sa lalaki]. Promise! Nagkaroon po noong [sinubukan] ko ang sarili ko kung [ano] ba talaga ang sexual preference ko. Dati nakita ko ‘yung [sagot] noong nandun pa ako sa stage na nalilito ako. Confirmed!”
Ricky Davao’s confirmation
Inday Will Always Love You co-star Ricky Davao confirmed that Tekla is a straight man. He joked how Librada would turn around if a guy was changing clothes. Tekla, however, would not look away when it was a woman who was changing clothes.
“Kasama ko siya sa tent eh. Tuwing nagbibihis kami, tumatalikod siya pero kapag ‘yung mga babae nagbibihis, nakaharap siya.”
Librada, then, teased how he would sometimes get affected at the sight of a naked woman.
“Sumisikip nga ‘yung pantalon ko eh!”
