Award-winning broadcast journalist Kara David expressed her admiration for Vice Ganda after witnessing the Unkabogable Star deliver an inspiring commencement address during the 2026 University of the Philippines College of Media and Communication (UP CMC) Recognition Ceremony.

On Facebook, the veteran Kapuso journalist and UP professor shared a photo with Vice and admitted that she was genuinely starstruck upon meeting the television host and comedian.
“Si Vice Ganda ang commencement speaker namin kahapon sa UP CMC graduation. Na-starstruck ako nung makita ko siya. Napahanga ako nung marinig ko siya,” Kara wrote.
She also thanked Vice for delivering what she described as a meaningful message to the graduating class.
“Salamat, Meme Vice! Padayon!”
In her post, Kara highlighted portions of Vice’s speech that resonated with her, particularly his reminder that graduates carry the responsibility of creating positive change in society.
“You are expected to spark change. Change, not chaos. You’re expected to share your education, not disinformation,” Vice said.
He likewise challenged the graduates to uphold truth, integrity, and accountability as they begin their professional journeys.
“Hindi kayo ang magsisimula ng korapsyon. Hindi kayo ang maghahasik ng kasinungalingan. Hindi kayo ang magliligaw at magmamanipula ng opinyon ng publiko.”
Vice also reminded the graduates that, as products of the country’s premier state university, they are expected to become responsible leaders who will use their education for the greater good.
During his commencement address, Vice reflected on his own journey—from growing up in a humble family to becoming one of the country’s biggest entertainment personalities and an influential voice for the LGBTQIA+ community.
His speech centered on resilience, authenticity, and using one’s platform to inspire meaningful change.

The UP appearance came amid another milestone in Vice Ganda’s career after it was officially announced that he will star alongside Vic Sotto in the upcoming comedy film The Greatest Showdown, directed by Jun Robles Lana.
The film marks the first-ever movie collaboration between the two box-office icons and is being eyed as a major entry for the 2026 Metro Manila Film Festival.
Vice also received recognition during the 9th Entertainment Editors’ Choice (The EDDYS), where he was honored as one of the Box Office Heroes for the success of his film Call Me Mother.
