Anne Curtis went teary-eyed and had to turn back from the camera during It’s Showtime on September 19, Wednesday. She cringed and apologized to the audience.
She was opening the segment, Tawag ng Tanghalan, with co-hosts Ryan Bang, Mariel Rodriguez, Amy Perez and Vice Ganda.
Frog talk.
It all started when they talked about eating frog dishes. Amy asked Ryan if he had eaten a frog before.
“Oo, sa Pampanga na-try ko. Masarap ‘yung leg.”
Mariel shared that she had also tried it before.
“Ayun rin ‘yung na-try ko… ‘yung fried… para siyang manok!”
Frog is good and bad for…?
Ryan continued that eating frog is good for energy for men.
“Pero ‘yung palaka daw, good for ‘yung mga energy sa lalaki…”
Vice mentioned superstitions about frogs.
“Dati, kinakatakutan ang mga palaka. Kasi, magkakakulugo ka daw kapag humawak ka.”
Anne asked if it was true.
“Totoo ba? Actually pwede pa daw ‘yun, di ba?”
Mariel shared her knowledge about the superstition.
“Sabi nila, di ba, kapag naiihian ka? Totoo ba ‘yun?”
Anne cries.
Anne shared how there were clean frogs from farms.
“Pero may mga malilinis di ba? ‘Yung mga palakang puki…bukid?”
Vice immediately turned away from the camera. Anne, clearly embarrassed, did the same thing.
Amy, on the other hand, changed the topic and mentioned the criteria for judging for the segment, Tawag ng Tanghalan.
Anne cried, wiping tears from her eyes.
“Bukid… bukid! ‘Yun daw ‘yung malinis.”
She covered her face and apologized for her slip of the tongue.
“Sorry po.”
Anne pleaded her co-hosts to move on with the segment.
