Rumors have it that Regine Velasquez will soon leave GMA Network and transfer to ABS-CBN to follow her husband, Ogie Alcasid. The couple and their friends, however, remain silent about the rumors.
Asia’s Songbird currently has two on GMA Network, namely Sarap Diva every Saturday mornings and The Clash on Saturday and Sunday evenings.
GMA executive comments on the rumors
GMA SVP for Entertainment Lilybeth Rasonable answered the issue but rather vaguely.
“Nag-usap na kami. Pero siguro habang wala pang ina-announce officially, either from the network or from Regine, those are all just hearsay or speculation.”
GMA Network’s plans for Regine
Regine Velasquez is the only one among her peers who has chosen to stay put on GMA. Amid network transfer rumors, the Kapuso network bared their plans for Regine.
“We have no plans of ending the show (Sarap Diva) because it’s doing well, it’s earning well, it has good following. So it’s a good platform not only for the host but for our artists so wala naman kaming plans na i-end yung show… She has a U.S. tour so talagang hindi muna siya makikita on air.”
