  • After launching four original mini-series in December 2018, Cignal Entertainment, Cignal TV’s original content division, welcomed the New Year with one more show that is available-on-demand on its video streaming platform Cignal Play (CPlay).
  • The Orbiters’ first episode titled “Mystery Lang,” was released this January. With new episodes airing every week, The Orbiters’ can only be streamed on CPlay.

Co-produced by Perci Intalan and Jun Lana’s The IdeaFirst Company (IdeaFirst), The Orbiters is a light-hearted comedy mini-series that portrays the dynamics of men’s attempts to “orbit” around or catch the attention of their crush. Being torpe or afraid to express their admiration, if not show their love, they are contended to admire the object of their affection from afar – like the planets orbiting the sun.

Directed by Miko Livelo and Dominic Lim, The Orbiters stars Cedric Juan and Adrianna So.  Cedric Juan, a film and theater actor, gained attention for his role as one of the gay friends of Paolo Ballesteros in “Die Beautiful” (2016). On the other hand, this is the first lead-star role for Adrianna So, who first started out playing villain and support roles on TV5.

Juan’s character, Pol, alongside two of his friends, Victor Anastacio (Jun) and Bob Jbeili (Twinkle), try their best to outwit each other to catch the attention of Adrianna (Allison), the beautiful newcomer at their shared office space. This friendly competition between the trio leads to numerous misadventures, one after another.

The Orbiters is a refreshing watch. Fun and wacky, the miniseries is fully relatable to millennials, young entrepreneurs and professionals starting out their careers, as well as the young at heart. Great for those looking to cap their work week or have a relaxing weekend with comic relief that viewers can enjoy from each 45-minute episode.

The Orbiters’ first episode titled “Mystery Lang,” was released this January. With new episodes airing every week, The Orbiters’ can only be streamed on CPlay.

Notably, The Orbiters comes as a complement to other Idea First titles, namely the romantic comedy “Sleepless” and the romance anthology “Feels like Forever.”  Also available on Cignal Play are Unitel Productions’ six-part anthology series, Agham, Inc. and the first and second season of Tukhang.

Also available on CPlay are Cignal Entertainment original movies called “Advocasine” series, which consists of impactful and inspiring films that tackle some of the most relevant issues in the country today like suicide, HIV awareness, and poverty. The advocacy is a tripartite partnership between Cignal, the Content Cows Company and the Idea First Company.

Cignal Play is available to all Cignal Subscribers via the App Store and Google Play. Read more about the app on www.cignalplay.com.
