- It’s been a long time since real life friends Regine Velazquez and Vice Ganda wanted to do a collaboration
- However due to the conflict on their contracts with the networks where they belong, it was previously impossible
- The 3-day sold out Valentine Concert, The Songbird and The Songhorse, created a history in the local entertainment scene
- Both the producers and the official venue partner rejoiced for its victory
Real life close friends Regine Velasquez-Alcasid and Vice Ganda have long expressed wanting to collaborate in a concert, but it was not previously possible as they belonged to rival networks.
In 2018, the dream project finally pushed through, as the Songbird, Regine Velasquez has transferred to ABS-CBN. The demand was not surprising as the concert series gathered, for the first time, two superstars from their respective fields.
According to concert producer Star Events, the two Kapamilya stars made history by performing before three sold-out crowds on February 14, 15 and 16 at the Araneta Coliseum. The two iconic figures of Regine Velasquez and Vice Ganda wrapped up their three-night “The Songbird and the Songhorse” concert series on Saturday.
Here are some snippets from the Valentine concert as shared on social media by the official account of Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Below are the photos of some special guests who watched the concert like Joel Cruz, the founder of the local perfume brand Aficionado supported the concert. It’s Showtime hosts Jhong Hilario and Ronnie Alonte were also there to support their friend’s concert.
Of course, the official venue of the concert congratulated Vice Ganda and Regine Velazquez for the three day sold-out concert.
It’s good to know that, despite some challenges in our local entertainment industry, there are still events that can make history.
Congratulations Vice Ganda and Regine Velazquez!
