- Pia will try to audition for the role of ‘Darna’
After Liza withdrew from the role of Darna due to her injury, netizens were giving their opinions as to who will possibly get the role of Darna. One of the names mentioned was Pia Wurtzbach.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Pia was flattered when she knew she was one of the choices of netizens, and if given a chance to be chosen, she will be committed to it and is willing to undergo training and workshop. Pia will try, if there is an audition for the role, because it is her dream role.
“I’m very flattered that they think I can play the role of Darna. It’s an iconic role, it’s a very sought-after role, it’s the role of a lifetime. Kung papalarin na ibibigay sa akin ‘yung role na Darna, tatanggapin ko. I will work hard, I will train, I will attend workshops. Ibibigay ko lahat ng lakas ko. But, of course, it’s ABS-CBN’s decision in the end to see who is perfectly fit to play the role.”
“Yeah, of course! If I find out that they’re open to have me audition, then I’m going to try. Why not? . . . It’s everybody’s dream. It’s a dream role for me to play a superhero. If it happens, it happens. If not, then that’s also fine.”
After knowing that Liza withdrew from the role , Pia messaged Liza that she was sad for Liza because she remembered when they were in Australia doing ASAP, that they were talking about all the preparations and how Liza was being excited about the role.
“Nalungkot ako talaga kasi kaibigan ko na din si Liza eh. I remember talking to her about the movie Darna while we were doing ASAP in Australia, the preparation and how she was really excited about it. And yung feeling na, alam mo yun sa iyo na eh pero may things na di natin ma-control. I feel bad for her. And I also messaged her kasi I can imagine what it feels like.”
