Kapamilya actress and TV host Kim Chiu did not stay silent against bashers and netizens who criticized her for speaking up about the current situation in the country.

In a post on X posted Thursday, May 14, Kim admitted feeling saddened by the negative reactions she received after voicing out her thoughts on social issues.
“Nakakalungkot. That’s what happens when concern and opinion don’t align with them—gusto agad patahimikin,” Kim wrote.
The actress added that although she is already used to criticism, she still has every right to express her opinions as a Filipino citizen.
“Oo, Bisaya ko, pero Pilipino rin akong may karapatang magsalita at magpahayag ng saloobin,” she stressed.
Kim also shared her frustration over paying taxes while witnessing political controversies and tension within the government.
“Masakit magbayad ng buwis tapos ganito ang nakikita natin. Hindi po tayo ang magkakalaban. Pare-pareho lang tayong mamamayan,” she added.
She then appealed to the public to stop attacking each other online and avoid unnecessary arguments.
“Wala tayong kapangyarihang tulad nila, kaya sana dili mu mangaway oi. Murag mga bata naman ning uban ba. Kung unsa imong ganahan edi okay. Ako mao man ni ako ganahan. Pasagdii,” she wrote.
Previously, Kim Chiu also reacted to the controversial incident inside the Senate and shared her opinion that the situation could have been avoided if the person involved voluntarily surrendered to authorities — a statement many netizens believed referred to Ronald ‘Bato’ dela Rosa amid the ongoing ICC-related controversy.
Kim’s remarks quickly gained attention online, with supporters defending her right to speak on national issues while critics continued to question celebrities sharing political opinions on social media.
