Nadine is open to the idea but she reiterated her stand during her previous interviews that it could be anybody as long as it would give justice to the said role.

“It’s nice, it’s a good opportunity, it’s a good project, so who’s not open for it?” she said.

She continued: “I mean, if it’s meant for me, sa akin po ibibigay. But like what I’ve said before, I know that the project is going to be given to someone who can give justice to the role. It does not have to be me, as long as mabigyan ng justice. I know naman that everyone is going to pick the right one.”

Nadine sees nothing wrong if she is the third choice for the role, “I don’t think it’s bad to be a third choice. I mean, you know, puwede rin namang it’s not the right time or it’s not the right project for them, so I don’t think it matters.”

Award Winning Director Erik Matti, who was supposed to direct the Darna reboot, named Nadine as his personal pick to become the next Darna.

“After her [Liza], I only see Nadine Lustre so far as someone who can be Darna. Very sultry. She has a lot of female sensuality and at the same time still looks tough and very Filipina,” he explained.

Direk Erik backed out due to creative differences and he was replaced by filmmaker Jerrold Tarog.

Several celebrities were mentioned to be the next actress to portray the iconic role. They are Jennylyn Mercado, Jessy Mendiola, and Kathryn Bernardo among others.

Nadine just wants what’s best for the most-anticipated movie. She could say ‘yes’ but she is also happy for anybody to have the role.
