Veteran actor Eddie Garcia passed away on June 20, 2019, after almost two weeks of being in a coma due to a severe neck fracture he suffered on the set of his new GMA Network series.
Many netizens have criticized GMA Network for what has been seen as negligence to ensure the safety of the actors and to provide for a medic on the set.
Actress Judy Ann Santos shared her opinion on the issue regarding GMA Network’s negligence.
On her Instagram, the actress shared her thoughts on the passing of Eddie Garcia in a lengthy post.
The actress added that what happened should be a lesson, especially since the accident could have been avoided.
The actress thanked the veteran actor for being a big part of the showbiz industry.
“mapayapang paglalakbay sir eddie..”
The actress received both negative and positive comments on her post.
Some even pointed out Eddie Garcia’s previous work on ABS-CBN’s FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano wherein he engaged in heavy action scenes were no untoward incidents involving the actor despite the intense action scenes.
Not to sourgrape, but Manoy Eddie Garcia would be very much alive today if it weren't for the negligence and incompetence of GMA Network. I cannot believe we lost a great actor and a national treasure because of a taping mishap. You will never be forgotten, Manoy. Rest in peace.

Not a natural death so an investigation including a forensic autopsy is in order. But this is the Philippines. https://t.co/ckxq4lk2UR

Tbh, GMA should be at fault for something for what happened to Eddie Garcia. He's been shooting action scenes for months in Ang Probonsyano and nothing happened.

One netizen even said that Rosang Agimat should be cancelled for the series lead to Eddie Garcia’s death.
Truly, a great and veteran actor passing away is truly devastating not just for the Philippine’s Showbiz Industry but as well to the country.
