Rumors have surfaced on social media that the Romantic-Comedy Queen Jennylyn Mercado was removed from the Philippine adaptation of Descendants of the Sun.

However, “Big Boss” Dingdong Dantes spoke up about the matter.
In an interview with Dantes, he said that the cast of Descendants of the Sun remake is almost complete. He hinted that they are only waiting for one member, apparently referring to his leading lady in the upcoming series.
“Isa na lang yung hinihintay. Isa na lang,” Dantes said with a smile.
When asked why the actress who will be his leading lady has not been revealed, the actor answered, “Baka may inaatay.” This response just made netizens curious of who will play the role of “Beauty” in the remake.
He was also asked if there’s a possibility that Heart Evangelista will be his leading lady in which he replied with, “Hindi natin alam. Why not?”
Dantes was also asked who he wants to be his leading lady, but he only said that it’s up to the management.
It was announced beforehand that Dantes will play the lead role in the DOTS remake. Since then, Jennylyn Mercado has been the rumored top choice for leading lady.
In previous reports, it was Alden Richards who was supposed to top-bill the remake alongside Mercado but with the official announcement that Dantes was taking on the role, that rumor has been shot down.
However, Mercado didn’t clarify if she is really going to be “Beauty” but she already expressed her excitement for the role.
“Bakit hindi di ba? Uhm, kung ibibigay sakin ng GMA, sige,” the actress answered.
“Bakit hindi.. Napakagandang opportunity yan para makatungtong naman sa ibang genre,” she added.
