  • Aiko Melendez is open to going back to ABS-CBN.
  • Aiko Melendez is happy with Prima Donnas.

Award-winning actress Aiko Melendez said she’s still open to go back and work again with the Kapamilya network.

In Reggee Bonoan’s interview, Melendez said being a freelancer, it is not impossible for her to go back and work again in ABS-CBN.

“No. Kasi Ate Reg, hindi naman ako under contract sa GMA. Who knows after my show with ‘Prima Donnas’ I might be back in ABS. I’m a freelancer and that’s my advantage,” Aiko said.

Melendez’s reaction was in response to entertainment reporter Reggee Bonoan’s question if Aiko’s decision to part ways with former manager Boy Abunda had something to do with her work at GMA network.

Aiko Melendez has already cut ties with Backroom Artists Management of Boy Abunda after 18 years and transferred to Arnold Vegafria’s ALV Talent Management.

Meanwhile, before transferring to GMA Network, Aiko stayed with ABS-CBN for nine years.

Her last Kapamilya TV show was Bagani where she played Matadora in 2018. But the Kapamilya role that made a bigger mark on television was as Emilia Ardiente in the popular pre-primetime teleserye Wildflower.

Currently, Melendez is seen in GMA Network’s afternoon drama Prima Donnas which going up against the popular Kapamilya afternoon teleserye Kadenang Ginto. Melendez plays villain Kendra in the afternoon Kapuso teledrama.

While going head to head with a more popular show Kadenang Ginto, Aiko said she’s happy that their show is giving a good fight.

“I’m sincerely Happy for the success of their show, But am also happy and grateful with Primadonnas because i can say di kami nalalampaso naman sa ratings and Maraming Salamat sa mga commercials namen kasi puno po kami lagi 🙂 Thank You Lord!” she said.
