• Gab Lagman and Sanya Lopez mutually decided to end their relationship
• Gab revealed that their careers caused their split
• Prior to this, Sanya had been known as single-since-birth
Kapamilya actor Gab Lagman opened up about his past relationship with Sanya Lopez after hosting the media launch of Tara Sa Kawit, a tourism campaign of Kawit, Cavite Mayor Angelo Emilio Aguinaldo.
Gab admitted that their special friendship sadly did not last long due to their busy schedules. The actor believed that they need to focus more on their careers for now.
“Wala po akong masasabi kay Sanya. Sobrang bait na babae po niya, and it just didn’t work out because of work.
“Tuluy-tuloy po kasi ang mga project niya and bihira ko lang po siyang makita.
“I want her to focus on her work and I want to focus on my work.
Despite this, the two still remain friends after they made their mutual decision to split.
“It went both ways. Pinag-usapan po namin na I think it’s better to focus on work muna po. Ganoon po ang nangyari, but we’re still friends,”Gab explained.
Gab revealed that they cut off their communication with each other since they parted ways.
“Work po talaga. Nakita niyo, tuluy-tuloy ang show niya sa GMA, di ba po?
“So, bihira ko rin po siyang makita. Siguro, once every two weeks.”
In a span of few months, Gab recalled that they were able to make good memories with each other.
“Of course, sa mga unang ano. Ako yung nagregalo kasi birthday niya. Sinurprise ko siya. I brought her flowers, sinurprise ko siya sa bahay niya. Pero that was a long time ago… last year pa po.”
The two were usually together during jogging sessions at UP Diliman. News reporter and Gab’s aunt Mariz Umali played cupid to the couple.
Last May, Sanya confirmed at the presscon of Dahil Sa Pag-Ibig that her almost seven-month long special friendship ended because they were not yet ready for a commitment.
Currently, Gab is focusing his attention on his showbiz career and his dreams of travelling abroad.
“I’m focusing on my craft and siyempre, raket-raket. I’ve been travelling more, I went to Taiwan with my brother and sister. I went to Bangkok, Thailand by myself for the first time And so far, nag-iipon lang ako ngayon, kasi I wanna travel the world, I want learn different cultures, I wanna taste different food, I wanna see different cities,” Gab said.
Sanya has been known for being single since birth which she proudly admitted in March 2017. The actress was formerly linked to Rocco Nacino after they were paired up in Encantadia (2016).
“Wala pa akong boyfriend, 20 years old na ako at wala ring nanliligaw sa akin. Nagtataka ang mommy at lolo ko kung bakit. Akala tuloy ng mommy ko, tomboy ako. Ang paniwala ko naman, hindi pa handa ang ‘tinatadhana sa akin,” Sanya explained.
