Former child actor Jiro Manio was arrested for allegedly stabbing a man in Marikina City on Friday, January 17.
On Saturday, Eastern Police District (EPD) Public Information Officer (PIO) Major Virgilio Timajo confirmed that Manio already underwent inquest proceedings at the Marikina Prosecutor’s Office.
Based on the initial police report, the victim, 25-year-old Zeus Doctolero, was walking to his friend’s house when Manio attacked him for no apparent reason.
According to the police, this resulted in a fistfight, then Manio eventually pulling a kitchen knife and stabbing Doctolero three times.
A post circulating on social media by Genevieve Galvez claimed that Doctolero is her alleged stalker, and that he had named her as the “friend” mentioned in the initial police report.
Doctolero was allegedly stalking Galvez, and on the day of the incident, he supposedly tried to see her. She also claimed that Doctolero dealt the first blow by hitting Manio with a helmet.
Another witness added, Jiro was attacked first and had only been fighting back.
“Nakaupo ako doon sa bangketa, nakita ko may commotion dyan. Akala ko noon hindi ko kilala, ‘yun pala si Jiro,” witness said.
According to Jiro’s live-in partner, Karen Macalino, the actor has changed and he even has his project again this year, which supposed to start shooting this January.
“Siya mismo ang nag-volunteer na magtrabaho sa karenderya dito lang malapit sa bahay namin para daw makatulong sa amin,” Macalino revvealed.
The actress started her statement by explaining why she had to do her video, “So kaya po ako nag-video na ganito, para po malinaw kung ano ba ang nangyari kay Jiro after noong 2015 kung saan siya nakita sa NAIA na palaboy-laboy.”
The comedienne explained that she took Jiro to rehab and supported him all throughout until he can recover.
“Ni-rehab ko po si Jiro dito sa Quezon City. Ayoko na po sanang sabihin pero alam kong maraming magtatanong sa inyo. Medyo may kamahalan po talaga ‘yung rehab ni Jiro. Siguro nasa 60,000 a month siya noon. And I think tumagal siya doon mga six months to eight months na rehab.
“After po pala nung rehab niya, kinuha ko pa siya ng condo, para doon sila ng mga kapatid niya [tumira], para in case na mag-artista siya, malapit siya rito sa GMA. Para at least disente naman ‘yung titirhan niya and para fresh start sa kanya.”
Sadly, Jiro is not yet well on his first rehab so the actress decided to bring him to the rehab again for the second time. But, he still did not turn out to be well. Jiro was back again smoking weeds.

“Doon ‘yung time na sabi ko, wala na ‘to. Parang pakiramdam ko ‘yung lahat ng ibinuhos kong effort, tulong, pangaral, suporta sa pamilya, parang natapon na lang nang ganoon. So parang ang dating sa ‘kin, napagod na ako.”
After which, Jiro and Aiai stopped seeing each other or communicating for almost a year and a half now.
“Siguro ang pinaka magagawa ko na lang ngayon ay magdasal at hinihingi ko rin po na ipagdasal natin siya nang maliwanagan ang isip niya kung ano man po ang mangyari sa kanya ngayon, na sana ay matuto siya sa lahat-lahat ng pinagdaanan niya, sa buhay niya.”
Ai-Ai ended the video by saying she knew people would judge her but only God knows what’s in her heart. She also asked for prayers for Jiro.
