As Pride Month draws to a close, the LGBTQIA+ bear community and its allies are preparing for one of the country’s biggest Pride celebrations with a cause.
Bears, Beers & Bars (BBB) returns for its eighth edition on June 27 with BBB 8.0: The Pride Parade After Party, promising an unforgettable night of entertainment, community, and advocacy.
This year’s edition embraces a bold Leather Edition theme, inviting guests to wear their favorite leather-inspired outfits—from harnesses and straps to boots—while reminding everyone that no dress code is required to celebrate Pride.
More importantly, BBB continues to champion what has become its defining philosophy: “Partying with a Purpose.”

Bears, Beers & Bars is a non-profit social enterprise dedicated to bringing together the LGBTQIA+ bear community and its allies through social events that create safe, inclusive spaces while raising funds for meaningful causes.
Unlike most nightlife events, BBB donates 100 percent of its proceeds directly to its chosen beneficiaries—the Golden Gays and the Golden Bekis, organizations that provide shelter, support, and livelihood opportunities for elderly members of the LGBTQIA+ community in Manila.
Since its launch in July 2023, BBB has already contributed approximately PHP 600,000 to support these organizations, made possible through the generosity of attendees, sponsors, and a dedicated team of volunteers.
What began as a modest gathering of around 150 people at a small tavern in front of the TV5 compound has evolved into the largest gathering of the Philippine bear community and its allies.
Now on its eighth edition, BBB regularly welcomes around 800 attendees, reflecting the growing strength and visibility of the community.
Over the years, the event has expanded beyond its humble beginnings by partnering with LGBTQIA+-friendly businesses, inviting local and international DJs, and showcasing performances from drag artists, the Golden Gays, and other talented members of the community.
Despite its remarkable growth, organizers emphasize that BBB’s mission has remained unchanged—to create a welcoming environment where everyone can celebrate while making a meaningful impact.
This year’s Pride Parade After Party marks BBB’s second consecutive year as the official post-Pride celebration for the Philippine bear community.
BBB 8.0 promises a night filled with live performances, music, and entertainment featuring a powerhouse lineup led by Hana Beshie, alongside Wheyn Protein and Sisig Royale, delivering high-energy performances throughout the evening.
The fan-favorite Kween Beasts will also return to the BBB stage, bringing another round of fierce performances that have become one of the event’s highlights.
Beyond the entertainment, organizers aim to showcase the diverse talents, creativity, and resilience found across the LGBTQIA+ community.
For BBB organizers, creating a safe and inclusive environment remains just as important as producing a memorable celebration.
The event welcomes members of the LGBTQIA+ community and allies alike, encouraging everyone to express themselves freely without fear of judgment.
This commitment extends beyond the dance floor. Through every ticket purchased and every attendee who joins the celebration, BBB continues to support LGBTQIA+ elders—many of whom have experienced discrimination, poverty, and homelessness—through its beneficiary organizations.
As Pride Month comes to a close, BBB hopes the message of inclusion continues long after the festivities end.
