Actress-Comedienne Kakai Bautista is filled with joy this 2020!
After 16 years in showbiz, for the first time the Bautista is now part of a weekly musical-variety show on GMA Network called All-Out Sundays (AOS).
Kakai started out as a theatre actress and in 2013, she assumed the role of Mercy in the Philippine Educational Theater Association‘s (PETA) musical comedy production, Rak of Aegis.
Her experiences as a support and as a comedienne, she believes it made her work at AOS easier. Her flair in comedy certainly adds entertainment value to the show.
“Nakakapagod, pero masaya,” she said. “Galing akong bakasyon, e. Tapos sunud-sunod yung trabaho. Kaya eto, thank you Lord na-sustain ko yung energy! Kasi may sakit na ako. Sobrang sama ng pakiramdam ko kanina. Pero thank you, Lord, saka sa vitamins.”
Kakai plays the best friend of Glaiza de Castro in the show’s Tapsikret segment.
The pilot telecast tells a story of ex-lovers (de Castro and Paolo Contis), who are competing against each other while running their newly-opened tapa restaurants.
Meanwhile, the 41-year old actress is aware that the GMA Network’s newest musical-variety show will be compared to its predecessor, Sunday PinaSaya which had high ratings throughout its four-year run and to its rival program ASAP Natin ‘To on the other channel.
“Ay, hindi! Ang importante sa akin, I deliver, I’ll give a good performance. Wala akong pakialam kung may issue outside. Saka SPS, lagi ako nag-ge-guest dun, tapos friends ko rin yung mga nandun,” she shared.
Kakai is not worried about the things she can’t control like TV program ratings and viewers’ feedback.
It is not clear why Sunday PinaSaya was replaced with a show that has the same concept.
Kakai dismissed clarification that the co-hosts of the previous show might feel uneasy.
She said, “Feeling ko hindi. Kasi okay yung mga tao dun. Saka mga kaibigan ko yung mga yun.”
Speaking about Lovely Abella and Jerald Napoles, Kakai adds, “Sobrang supportive nila like si Lovely, si Je. Nag-congrats sila. Wala kaming mga ganun, e.”
At the same time, Kakai explained that she is not worried if the program will be pitted against its rival show ASAP Natin ‘To.
“Ay! Ang dami ko kasing kaibigan dun, di ba? Tayo kasi nagtatrabaho lang tayo, e. Oo, may competition bawat network. Pero for me, ang importante mapasaya yung tao. And nakita ko naman kanina masaya naman sila. Pero hindi naman mawawala yung bashers sa social media. Hindi ko na pinakikialaman yun.”
Together with Bautista are the stellar performers Aicelle Santos, Boobay, and Super Tekla.
