Megastar Sharon Cuneta, renewed her contract with the Kapamilya Network on Thursday.
ABS-CBN is her “home” despite earlier considering retirement from showbusiness.
The veteran singer-actress looked surprised when her opinion was asked about rumors currently linking her daughter KC Concepcion to Black Eyed Peas member apl.de.ap.
“No, [I am not aware],” she said before taking a long pause. “But I have a lot of respect for apl.de.ap. See? I don’t know what’s happening to my daughter, in her life. That’s a surprise to me so I don’t know what to say. But I have a lot of respect for apl. He’s a good person. I just wish I heard it from her if it’s true,” she said.

Sharon didn’t get much of a chance to talk with her daughter last Christmas Eve. She doesn’t even have an idea why KC is being distant to her and their family.
“I didn’t even know that she wasn’t coming nung December 31. We didn’t know. I didn’t know that we weren’t going to see her the next day. So I am worried lang about what she might be going through. It’s not like her eh,” Sharon shared.
“Because she’s in her 30s na. She has her own life to live. All I am asking for is ‘yung pinost ko na lang,” she said pertaining to her lengthy social media post on Wednesday night where she expressed how much she longs for her daughter.
“I think paglaki rin nila Frankie, they will have their own lives also but I believe na like me, sila Frankie will always make it a point to let me know what they are doing or how they are. Nami-miss ko lang ‘yung kailangan ako ng anak ko, ‘yung minsan hinahanap ako ng anak ko. Pero wala akong pinalaking batang masama.”

During the presscon, Sharon shared that she resorted to write an open letter on Instagram to her daughter “because the greeting that my daughter made with explanations for her absence on my birthday celebration on ‘ASAP’ was posted on social media.
“Like I wrote in my post last night, I did not get naman a personal message. It’s not like her. So nag-aalala ako. Nanay ako eh. So I think it’s normal lang sa mag-ina na may panahong ganyan. I am worried lang because I don’t know what she’s going through.
“I know that she’s going to get in touch with us soon. But I missed her because for the first time, late siya nung Christmas Eve, tapos wala siya nung Christmas lunch tapos talagang wala siya nung New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Ang pinakamasakit, wala akong idea kung nasaan siya nung birthday ko,” she added.
Despite all these, it is still “a mother missing her daughter.”
Meanwhile, Sharon will be working on seven planned projects this year including movies under Viva Films, Regal Films, and Star Cinema, TV shows and a teleserye.
