Veteran talk show host and writer Lolit Solis expressed her opposition to Robin Padilla’s tirade against ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal.
Lolit seemed to be confused about why Robin has several issues over the giant network’s franchise. The veteran writer also advised Robin to be straight-forward with his statements and focus on the ABS-CBN issue rather than including other rival networks.
Lolit said: “Ewan ko ba kung bakit ang daming hugot ni Robin Padilla sa mga nagaganap ngayong balita tungkol sa renewal ng franchise ng ABS-CBN. Sa halip na makatulong ay parang lalo pang gumugulo ang issues, na pati ibang istasyon, isinasali na niya. Kung anuman ang saloobin niya, ilatag niya ng maayos, sabihin niyang direct to the point at huwag paliguy-ligoy. Gusto niya na maayos ang sitwasyon pero parang ang dami pa niyang issues na binubuksan.”
For Lolit, it is unnecessary to encourage celebrities from different networks to reveal their pay rate. Robin should also pick a side in the issue.
She continued: “Gusto ba niyang masara o hindi? Iyon lang, huwag na dagdagan pa ng issue na magkano ang kontrata ng artista, maayos ba lagay ng ibang tauhan, naging fair ba? Ayusin muna ang problema saka ipasok iyon iba pang dapat ayusin.”
Åt the end of her statement, Lolit praised some good statements of Robin but said it won’t help to solve the issue about ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal.
“Maganda ang points mo Robin, pero ngayon, iba ang inaayos at iyon muna ang tignan mo, huwag na ‘yung iba pang problema.”
Previously, Robin challenged ABS-CBN stars to reveal their contract details and compare them with workers’ to show equality. According to Robin, if the network, as well as the celebrities, can prove the equality within the company, that’s the only time it’s valuable to fight for the franchise renewal.
He also dragged Coco Martin into his issues when one of the commenters on his rant suggested that it would be best if Robin could imitate Coco’s good deeds like helping actors get work.
As a response to the netizen, Robin emphasized that Coco just learned it from the veteran actors. He also reminded everyone of the time the FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano star supposedly pranked his co-workers by splashing water on them while they were asleep.
