- Netizens think that she was being insensitive and not thinking of the people earning below minimum wage on a daily basis.
- She even posted an apology video to explain what she meant but netizens would not easily accept her apology and explanations.
The whole of Luzon has been in lockdown to minimize the possible risk of the virus transmission known as COVID-19 coronavirus.
While many have been quarantined at home, there are a great number of people still have to go out since they are on a “no work, no pay” basis. In order to have money for their daily needs, they need to go to work even in lockdown in order to survive.
Media personality and entrepreneur Cat Arambulo earned the ire of the netizens after posting a video on social media where she berated these unfortunate workers. “God why don’t you motherf*ckers just stay at home” while watching news of some netizens who were caught by men in uniform.
A Twitter user named “NO CHILL MILLENNIAL @darnitJC” furiously reacted to her saying that they don’t have the luxury to stay at home like her.
In her video, Cat said, “This is exactly why they need the military coz u f*ckers won’t stay at home.” Her lack of empathy for people earning below minimum wage on daily basis only fueled people’s anger.
Cat Arambulo will never understand the struggle of the common filipino workers, bc her arrogant stupid ass is sitting on rich money with her 3 remaining brain cells. You ma’am is the true stupid motherfucker here not them. Shut up and finish your damn wine! https://t.co/viYR577I3P

Kung may choice sila, syempre di sila lalabas no!! https://t.co/HaiFukzDhV

With netizens continuously attacking her for her insensitivity, Cat posted an apology video to explain what she meant but netizens would not easily accept her apology and explanations.
Ano bang akala nya??? Lumalabas ang mga tao para mglakwatsa?

Netizens felt that she wasn’t sorry at all after hearing her so-called apology video. They said that she still blames the people who still go to work amidst the virus threat for she doesn’t know how it feels to be hungry if they don’t work.
She's not sorry at all at the end pinapanindigan nya na mali pa rin yung mga taong nag hahanap buhay sa gitna ng pandemic. Palibhasa hindi sya yung magugutom, fck fake apology not accepted!

@catarambulo_com please don't speak about things you don't know. You are privileged to be comfortable in your own home. But did yoy think about thousands of filipinos who won't get their salaries if they do not work today?

HOY, CAT ARAMBULO!
Those ARRESTED "motherfuckers" did not go out to get sick, to spread #COVID19PH, or to disobey Govt.
Believe it or not, most of them don't even know why there is a lockdown, & how dangerous the virus is.
THEY'RE NOT "PASAWAY"–THEY'RE JUST DOING HANAPBUHAY! https://t.co/bb5uuO0e17

Social distancing may indeed help to avoid the transmission of the virus but for some workers especially contractual workers they have no choice but to work to earn some money to buy food and to keep themselves healthy to fight sickness.
Some celebrities also were angered by Arambulo’s remarks.
Agot Isidro did not pull any punches with her post on Cat’s tirade on the poor.
Juan Miguel Severo was so angry he had to go offline.
Alex Gonzaga expressed hope that the government would offer financial assistance to those who need it.
I hope some people will find empathy towards our kababayan who has no choice but to go to work for their families. I hope the government can address this issue and help them financially so they can stay at home knowing they can still survive.

CAT ARAMBULO: Why don't you motherf*ckers just stay at home?
TAXI DRIVER on TV Patrol: Kung 'di kami bibiyahe, hindi kami kakain. Mahirap maging mahirap.
Hear that, motherf*cker?

Unlike Cat, some celebrities showed sympathy for those less fortunate.

#covid19 #pilipino #bayanihan #reliefgoods #basicgoods #share #help
Paano kaya? 🙁

Lockdown and social distancing are for the middle and upper classes only. How about the lower class? We need mass testing.

For her anti-poor sentiments, Arambulo’s name trended on Twitter.
