With the temporary shutdown of showbiz productions and the closure of cinemas due to the coronavirus, artists have resorted to the digital space while productions are on hold.
One of the artists that is into vlogging is Kapamilya actress Kim Chiu. Kim is not new to YouTube since she started vlogging way back 2018.
She even earned her Gold Play Button for gaining 1 million subscribers, but despite her experience in vlogging, Kim seemed to have a hard time editing her own vlogs.
In an Instagram story of Kim, she jokingly shared that she has a hard time editing her own vlogs.
“Editing 2 vlogs atm… Hirap maging techie pala.”
The actress even joked that she’s finding it hard is because she cut class before. “Cutting class ako dati sa comp class eh!
“So kids NO CUTTING CLASSES OK ?! … pagisisihan niyo yan paglaki!”
In 2015, despite her hectic work schedule, Kim decided to go back to school to finish her college degree,
Kim enrolled in the University of the Philippines (UP) Open University, taking up business management.
“I am so happy I got accepted in UP Diliman, I took the entrance exams last August and passed and I have already enrolled. I chose business management because I own several business franchises including Julie’s Bakeshop and Potato Corner.”
It has been two months since the national government mandated the Enhanced Community Quarantine which put on hold all TV and movie productions.
Filmmakers are alarmed but film executives shared that they’ve shifted focus onto the digital space while productions are on hold.
As Jay Montelibano, Viva Entertainment Vice-President for Sales and Marketing said, “The next big step is to be on that digital space. While production is on hold, we’re focusing on producing concerts and comedy shows online.”
