Jodi Sta. Maria spoke up about the government’s misplaced priorities.

In a tweet, Wednesday, June 3, Jodi questioned the government especially Congress’ sense of urgency when it comes to more pressing matters.

“Hindi ba urgent din na malaman natin kung saan napunta yung 270+B natin? Yung breakdown po ba. Urgent din yung compensation ng mga frontliners na nasawi dahil sa CoVid naibigay na ba? Urgent na magawan ng paraan ang pagdurusa ng mga motorista na tila sila pa ang may sala.”

The Kapamilya star’s tweet came on the heels of news about House of Representative’s passage of the anti-terror bill while there’s no clear report yet on government’s efforts about the COVID-19 crisis which was funded by billions of tax pesos.

On Wednesday, the House of Representatives with a vote of 173-31-29 passed on third and reading HB 6875 or the Anti-Terror Law which would only need the signature of the President to take in effect.

This comes amid the government’s continued lackluster performance in handling the COVID-19 crisis.

Like Jodi, many also questioned where the emergency funds went.

Since April, the government has borrowed billions to aid the country’s fight against COVID-19. According to a Reddit article, since April 15, the government had already borrowed 177 billion pesos on top of the 308 billion initial budget for COVID-19.

These, however, haven’t been broken down yet on where the funds were used.
