Netizens supportive of ABS-CBN and the grant of its franchise took to social media to air their reaction to Solicitor General Jose Calida’s arrogant rhetoric at the House of Representatives.
During the Monday, June 1 hearing of the Committee on Legislative Franchises on the ABS-BCN franchise, Calida said ABS-CBN’s demise is near quoting the line from Frank Sinatra’s ‘My Way’.
“For decades now, ABS-CBN has been deceiving the Filipino people. Their brazen act must come to an end. The hour of reckoning may have been delayed, but it now has come.
“I could hear now the voice of Frank Sinatra resonates… ‘And now, the end is near,” he said.
It was Calida’s first appearance in Congress after ignoring several invitations in the past.
Meanwhile, netizens can’t help but blast Calida’s arrogant statement against the network.
