Kapamilya actress Angel Locsin and ABS-CBN news reporter Kevin Manalo both threw shade on Kapamilya stars who remained silent despite current woes of the Kapamilya network.
In an Instagram story post, Angel shared the post of a netizen who asked who among the Kapamilya stars remained silent and didn’t show support for the embattled network.
The netizen even added that if it was Star Magic Ball, surely these stars will be the first to show up.
Aside from Angel, Kapamilya reporter Kevin Manalo also threw the same shade even going further by naming some Kapamilya stars who are known Duterte supporters.
In his tweet, Manalo asked Piolo Pascual, Vhong Navarro, Ryan Bang, Jugs Jugueta, Teddy Corpuz, sisters Toni and Alex Gonzaga, and Sarah Geronimo on their take on what’s happening to the network.
Manalo even quoted Jolina Magdangal’s statement in one of her news interviews that during ABS-CBN station ID they are united, why are there some who can’t show support during the network’s most trying times.
“Mr. Piolo, Mr. Vhong, Mr. Ryan Bang, Mr. Jugs, Mr. Teddy, Ms. Toni, Ms. Alex, Ms. Sarah ano po ang masasabi niyo? Marami sa atin ang mawawalan ng trabaho. Baka po pwede namin marinig ang boses niyo. Sabi nga po ni Ms. Jolina tuwing station ID magkakasama kayo. Sana pati ngayon.”

ABS-CBN has been in shutdown since the May 5 cease and desist order from the National Telecommunications Commission.
The hardest blow happened on Friday, July 10 when 70 congressmen voted to deny ABS-CBN’s franchise application at the committee level.
Following the network’s loss, ABS-CBN began their process of retrenchment.
In their statement, ABS-CBN said they will start implementing the retrenchment programs and closing of some of its business units.
“With the non-renewal of its congressional franchise, ABS-CBN is now forced to cease the operations of some of its businesses and implement a retrenchment program covering ABS-CBN and its subsidiaries effective end of business day on 31 August 2020,” it said
On, Thursday, July 16, ABS-CBN Sports announced they were shutting down.

“The final buzzer. So ends this journey… I made the painful announcement to our beloved Sports team today.
“I’ve been on this road before, and I can assure you, it is not something I will swear even on people I don’t like. It is heart-wrenchingly painful,” said ABS-CBN Sports head Dino Laurena.
Earlier, ABS-CBN News’ Current Affairs division has also announced that it is ceasing operations of its programs.
ABS-CBN’s FM station MOR 101.9 also announced that it will also stop operations starting August 31, 2020.
During Failon Ngayon episode on DZMM, DJ Chaha shared that they were advised by the MOR management that they are only on-air until August 31.
“Sinabi sa amin na hanggang August 31, next month na lang ang MOR,” she said
Meanwhile, ABS-CBN Regional Network group and ABS-CBN University will also close down as a result of the non-renewal of the network’s franchise.
