Kapamilya actress Sylvia Sanchez mourned the death of an ABS-CBN employee named Mavic Oducayen.

On Wednesday, July 22, the Ruel Santos Bayani (RSB) Scripted Format group confirmed the death of Oducayen on social media. “We lost a beautiful soul today. You will be missed, our Kapamilya, Mavic. May you rest in peace in paradise.”

Oducayen had been working for ABS-CBN for a long time as a production manager under RSB Scripted Format. She had been part of several ABS-CBN teleseryes such as Pamilya Ko.

On Friday, July 24, one of Pamilya Ko cast members Sylvia Sanchez shared a message on her Instagram post to mourn the death of her colleague. The last time she was with Oducayen was during the protest held on the day Congress was to vote for ABS-CBN’s franchise.

In her post, Sanchez reminisced her memories of how Oducayen showed how she cared for her.

Ayaw kong pagsisihan ‘yan,” Sylvia said

They both expressed how they both missed each other, especially during Pamilya Ko tapings.

According to Sylvia, Oducayen was severely affected by the franchise denial, especially since she was one of those who were retrenched. Being a loyal and dedicated kapamilya for several years, it was too much for Oducayen who suffered a heart attack.

‘Yon pala ikaw ang delikado Ms. Mavic,” she said.

Sylvia felt sad and angry about what had happened. She had thought this would not happen if consideration was given for the employees amid the pandemic.
