Mariel Rodriguez-Padilla took to social media to express her disbelief in the amount of taxes that she was required to pay. She posted her frustrations on her Instagram Story.
“I was having such a nice day until my accountant texted me the tax I have to pay for,” she wrote.
“sira araw ko shet,” she added.
Mariel said that her day was going great until she received the news from her accountant about the amount of tax that she needs to pay.
She added that because she was so shocked by the news, she didn’t realize that she was pumping milk for 29 minutes already.
“Because natulala ako sa tax. 29 minutes na pala ako nagpupump,” she wrote.
Mariel has been inactive from showbiz since she dedicated herself to being a full-time mom to her children. That’s why she was shocked to find out that her tax due remained high.
Mariel’s husband, Robin Padilla is one of the Top 500 Individual Tax Payers in the country as of March 2015 according to the Bureau of Internal Revenue.
It can be recalled that Mariel related to her husband’s concerns when he complained about the water interruptions in most places in Metro Manila and the lack of basic services from the government. In a lengthy post on Instagram, Robin expressed his frustrations saying that the government failed to give the services that the people need.
“kayo lang ang magiginhawa ang buhay! kami ang taas ng mga tax namin binabayaran ni tubig sa gripo wala kami! Mahiya naman kayo!” Robin wrote.
Mariel agreed with her husband’s rant saying that she also pays high tax rates yet still suffers from he lack of services from the government.
“Yes!!! Ang sakit sa loob na akala ko mayaman na ako tapos dumating yung bayaran ng tax tapos nag bayad ako ng tax na para sa akin ay MALAKI tapos walang tubig sa bahay tapos may tax ulit na june 20 and June 28 na due ano yun???? Di pa ako nakaka recover dun sa malaki ko na binayaran meron na ulit????? Tapos wala tayong tubig?!?!?!?!?!?” Mariel said in the comment section.
Mariel and Robin Padilla recently celebrated their 10th anniversary. The two met on the now-defunct noontime show Wowowee when Robin became a guest host for the show.

Mariel Padilla is currently one of the hosts in the noontime variety show “It’s Showtime” but she is still on leave because she is focusing on taking care of her children.
She launched her own Youtube channel where she showcases what it feels like to be a mom to two young girls and be a wife to Robin. She said that “through my channel I can inspire moms, soon to be moms, daddies, and women who value the importance of taking really good care of themselves and their families.”
Her Youtube channel currently has more than 700 thousand subscribers.
