Speculation has grown online over the current status of the relationship between actress Gee Canlas and her husband, actor Archie Alemania, following an emotional Instagram post in which Canlas referred to herself as a “solo parent.”
In a post shared on Thursday, February 5, Canlas opened up about what she described as a difficult and transformative year, though she stopped short of providing specific details about her personal situation.
“This past year was rough. No need for specifics — some things are meant to be processed alone. But I lost parts of myself, held on longer than I should have, and learned the hard way what it costs to keep showing up while quietly disappearing,” she wrote.
Canlas also said the photoshoot featured in the post became a moment of release and healing for her.
“Shooting this felt freeing. I remember looking up, seeing the sky, hearing the river, and feeling incredibly grateful,” she shared. “It reminded me to come back into my body, my breath, my own space — to remember who I am when I’m not shrinking, explaining, or carrying more than what’s mine.”
Netizens took particular notice when the actress spoke about prioritizing herself and her son, Caleb, and explicitly mentioned embracing life as a solo parent.
“I’m choosing to love myself with the same consistency and effort I give others, and I’m no longer making myself smaller for anyone. I want to show up more. For myself, for Caleb, for the people I love, and for the work that’s always felt like home to me,” Canlas said. “That’s the only way I can be fully me as a daughter, sister, a friend, a woman… as a solo parent.”
Despite the uncertainty surrounding her personal life, Canlas emphasized that she is still in the process of healing and rediscovering herself.
“Still figuring things out. Still healing. But rooted again. Here’s to rediscovering what was never really lost. My Gazelle-ness. My Gee-ness. Happy REBIRTHday to me,” she concluded.
As of this writing, Archie Alemania has not released any statement addressing the post or clarifying the status of their marriage.
Almania has previously been involved in a high-profile legal case after actress Rita Daniela filed an acts of lasciviousness complaint against him in 2024. In October 2025, the Bacoor Municipal Trial Court found the actor guilty and ordered him to pay indemnity and moral damages, in addition to the penalty imposed by the court.
Canlas and Alemania began dating in 2010, broke up after two years, and rekindled their relationship in 2017. They tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in October 2018 and have one son, Caleb. As of now, neither party has confirmed whether they have officially separated.
