In spite of the challenges of the pandemic, Gerald Anderson brought joy to his mother with a new car.
In Anderson’s latest vlog released on Monday, he shared with his followers a video of his mother’s reaction to the car in General Santos City.
Gerald surprised his mother Evangeline “Vangie” Opsima by giving her a silver Nissan Navara pickup truck.
The actor revealed that her mom is his motivation in life and what he did is just a little favor for all the things his mother did for him and their family.
“‘Yong nanay ko isa sa pinakamotivation ko sa buhay ko para pagbutihan ang trabaho,” he explained.
“So ang konting request niya, binigay natin. Sana makapagbigay ng konting saya ‘to, konting surprise sa kanya.”
Anderson didn’t surprise his mother personally but her reaction was caught on camera when she received the silver Nissan Navara.
Initially, Mommy Vangie was puzzled, asking where the flowers came from and what they were for. But as soon as she realized it was from her son she became emotional.
Not being able to hold back her tears Mommy Vangie thanked Gerald for the grand surprise, “Son thank you very much. I really appreciate it, It’s not my birthday. I’m very surprised RJ. I know you don’t have money. You do not make income yet… but I really appreciate it RJ thank you.”
Mommy Vangie said she’d prefer to get a multicab because there are some repairs going on at her home, but she remained grateful to her family.
“You know, RJ, how much I love you. This is too much, son. I’m just asking for multicab, I don’t need a fancy car yet. Thank you very much, RJ. Thank you, son. I love you.”
Mommy Vangie’s strong bond with Gerald was seen when she apologized to her son after she ranted against Bea Alonzo during an interview.
This happened a few weeks after the Bea Alonzo-Gerald Anderson-Julia Barretto controversy began. Mommy Vangie was interviewed by a local TV show in Mindanao She ranted against Bea and accused the actress of damaging her son’s good name.
But Mommy Vangie immediately apologized to him but she still reiterated that she could not bear seeing her son being criticized.
“I’m sorry RJ, I know you’re going to get mad to Mama. I think, son, it’s time to voice out anong naramdaman ko, saan nasasaktan si Mama.”
