Walking into the official launch of the VinFast VF MPV7 in Taguig felt like stepping into the future of family mobility.

Even before the formal presentation started, guests were already crowding around the covered vehicle display, trying to get an early glimpse of what VinFast Philippines had been preparing for the local market. Conversations around the venue revolved around one major topic: could this finally be the electric family vehicle that feels practical enough for everyday Filipino life?
The anticipation inside the room noticeably built up as the lights dimmed and the presentation began. Then came the reveal.
The moment the covers dropped, cameras immediately flashed across the venue as the VF MPV7 rolled into the spotlight. Seeing the vehicle in person was different from simply viewing photos online. The MPV carried a surprisingly sleek and premium appearance that instantly separated it from the boxy design language often associated with traditional family vans.
What immediately caught attention was the vehicle’s front fascia and signature V-shaped LED lighting system. Under the launch lights, the LED design gave the MPV a futuristic and almost luxury-like presence. The body lines looked smooth and balanced, reflecting what VinFast described during the presentation as a “golden ratio” design philosophy focused on elegance and harmony.
But while the exterior made a strong first impression, the real experience started when guests were finally allowed to step inside the vehicle.

The moment I entered the cabin, the first thing I noticed was how spacious everything felt.
Unlike many seven-seaters, where the third row often feels cramped or impractical, the VF MPV7 gave the impression that every seat was intentionally designed with comfort in mind. There was enough room to move comfortably, and the open cabin layout made the interior feel airy rather than restrictive.
As attendees explored the vehicle, many immediately began testing the seat configurations and storage options. Representatives demonstrated how the seats could be folded down to create up to 1,240 liters of cargo space, instantly transforming the vehicle from a passenger MPV into something capable of handling road trips, family luggage, shopping hauls, or even business-related transport needs.
Watching guests interact with the vehicle, it became obvious that practicality was one of its strongest selling points. Families, content creators, and automotive enthusiasts alike were already imagining how the MPV could fit into their daily routines.
But beyond the design and space, what truly made the VF MPV7 stand out during the launch was the fact that it is fully electric.
During the technical presentation, VinFast representatives shared that the vehicle produces 201 horsepower and can travel up to 450 kilometers on a single charge. For many attendees, those numbers immediately made the vehicle feel more realistic for both city driving and longer out-of-town trips.

One of the loudest reactions from the crowd happened when fast charging was discussed. According to the presentation, the VF MPV7 can recharge in as little as 30 minutes, significantly easing one of the biggest concerns many Filipinos still have about electric vehicles—charging convenience.
Still, the biggest conversation of the evening centered on something even more practical: affordability.
Electric vehicles are often viewed as premium products that remain financially out of reach for many Filipino families. But VinFast Philippines introduced a different approach through its battery subscription model, which quickly became one of the most talked-about features of the launch.
Instead of purchasing the battery outright, buyers can choose a subscription option that significantly lowers the initial cost of the vehicle. During the presentation, attendees learned that the VF MPV7 is priced at approximately ₱1,518,000 with the battery included, but can drop to around ₱1,239,000 through the subscription program.
Inside the venue, you could immediately hear people reacting to the pricing difference. Some openly discussed how the setup could make EV ownership feel more attainable for middle-income families who previously considered electric vehicles too expensive.

Adding even more excitement was the announcement that the first 1,000 customers who reserve the vehicle would receive one year of free battery subscription use. The crowd response to the incentive made it clear that VinFast understood exactly what potential buyers were looking for: flexibility and practicality.
As the night continued, attendees stayed around the vehicle long after the formal presentation ended. Some continued taking photos while others sat inside the cabin discussing features with company representatives. Several guests even began comparing the MPV with traditional gasoline-powered family vehicles currently available in the market.

What made the launch experience memorable was how approachable the entire presentation felt. Instead of positioning the VF MPV7 as a futuristic luxury concept disconnected from everyday life, VinFast Philippines presented it as something far more relatable—a family-centered vehicle designed for real-world use.
By the end of the evening, the VinFast VF MPV7 had successfully delivered more than just impressive specifications. It gave attendees a glimpse into how electric mobility could realistically fit into Filipino lifestyles through a vehicle that balances design, comfort, practicality, and accessibility.

And judging by the crowd that continued surrounding the MPV long after the launch concluded, many people left Taguig already imagining their future road trips in an all-electric, seven-seater. (with reports from Aldrine Benitez)
