AIA Critical Protect Plus launch at Pretty Huge Taguig turns health protection into a real-life wake-up call

Stepping into the launch of AIA Critical Protect Plus at Pretty Huge, thinking it would simply be another formal insurance presentation filled with technical financial terms and statistics.

But somewhere between the talks, the personal stories, and the physical activities that followed afterward, the event slowly became something much more personal than expected.

From the moment guests arrived, the atmosphere already felt different from a traditional corporate launch. Instead of a rigid conference setup, the venue carried a more energetic and lifestyle-driven environment. People were casually exploring activity zones, checking out wellness booths, taking photos, and chatting about fitness goals while waiting for the program to begin.

The setting itself perfectly matched the message AIA Philippines wanted to communicate: health protection should not only exist during emergencies—it should be part of everyday life.

@lionheartv In a world of unpredictable health shifts, the most dangerous risk isn’t the diagnosis itself—it’s the “invincibility mindset.” For many, critical illness is a topic relegated to the “I’ll think about it later” folder. However, industry experts and financial advocates are shifting the conversation toward a more grounded reality: the necessity of a comprehensive safety net like @AIA Philippines Critical Protect Plus. #AIA #aiacriticalprotectplus #LionHearTV #RawrNation ♬ original sound – LIONHEARTV

Once the formal program started, the tone inside the venue shifted into something more reflective.

The speakers discussed the reality of critical illnesses in a way that felt surprisingly grounded and relatable. Rather than using fear to sell protection, the discussions focused on awareness and long-term preparedness. There was one phrase repeatedly mentioned during the presentations that stayed with me throughout the event—the “invincibility mindset.”

It referred to how many people unconsciously believe serious illnesses happen only to other people or only much later in life. Listening to that inside a room full of active professionals, creators, executives, and young attendees felt uncomfortably accurate.

The talks emphasized how quickly health situations can change and how critical illnesses do not only affect physical well-being—they can disrupt finances, careers, family stability, and even long-term goals people spend years trying to build.

But instead of leaving the room feeling anxious, the event focused on empowerment.

At the center of the entire launch was AIA Critical Protect Plus, which was introduced not simply as another insurance product but as a long-term health protection solution designed to evolve alongside a person’s life journey.

One of the strongest reactions from attendees came when the product’s multi-pay feature was explained.

Unlike traditional health insurance plans that typically end after one major claim, AIA Critical Protect Plus allows policyholders to claim up to three times for covered major illnesses. Hearing that immediately changed the way many people inside the room viewed critical illness protection.

It acknowledged a reality most people rarely think about: surviving one illness does not necessarily mean health risks disappear forever.

The product also covers more than 100 illnesses and protects up to age 100, positioning itself as something built for long-term resilience rather than short-term emergency support.

As the presentations continued, attendees became visibly more engaged. Some were quietly taking notes while others openly discussed the product among themselves, particularly the idea of having continued financial protection even after an initial major illness claim.

But perhaps the most interesting part of the launch was how AIA Philippines connected protection with actual lifestyle behavior through AIA Vitality.

Instead of simply encouraging people to stay healthy, the program actively rewards users for doing so. Guests learned how physical activity, fitness tracking, and healthy habits could unlock rewards and even increase certain coverage benefits.

That concept immediately made the product feel more modern and interactive.

Rather than treating insurance as something people only think about during sickness, AIA Philippines presented wellness as an active partnership between the individual and the company itself.

And then the event completely changed energy.

Once the talks ended, guests were invited into the active zones of Pretty Huge for fitness activities, obstacle challenges, and workout sessions.

Suddenly, people who had been quietly listening to discussions about health risks were now climbing obstacles, joining workouts, laughing through physical challenges, and encouraging one another around the venue.

What made this part memorable was how intentional it felt.

The launch didn’t just talk about health—it physically pushed attendees to move, participate, and experience wellness firsthand. The transition from discussions to actual activity made the event feel immersive rather than purely informational.

Watching people sweat through obstacle courses immediately after hearing conversations about longevity and prevention created a strangely powerful contrast. It reminded everyone inside the venue that health protection is not only about preparing financially for illness—it is also about actively investing in your own well-being while you still can.

By the end of the event, AIA Critical Protect Plus no longer felt like a distant financial product designed only for worst-case scenarios.

Instead, it felt like a practical safety net for real life—one that recognizes health journeys are unpredictable, long-term, and deeply connected to the everyday decisions people make.

And perhaps that was the strongest message of the entire launch: life is not won through short bursts of effort, but through consistency, preparation, and the willingness to protect both your future health and the people who depend on you. (with reports from Aldrine Benitez)
