In her YouTube Vlog, Mystica posted several allegations about the locked-in taping for the romantic comedy series, Owe My Love. Because of that, the showrunners of the series released a statement to counter her allegations.
Locked-In Taping Duration
Firstly, Mystica claimed that she wasn’t aware that she would be staying during the entire duration of the locked-in taping. She said that Owe My Love told her that her filming would only take one day and then pushed to the entire lock-in taping duration.
“Walang sinabi sa akin na tuluy-tuloy na. Akala ko, one day lang. Kung tuluy-tuloy pala, nakapaghanda sana ako ng damit ko. Ang dala ko lang ay good for one day shooting lang. I had no choice, nandoon na rin lang ako. Wala naman akong ginagawa sa bahay. I might as well magtrabaho na lang ko,” said Mystica.
To which Owe My Love answered that Mystica entered the lock-in taping on November 16 and that they informed all of the artists involved prior to the scheduled locked-in taping about the set-up as well as their room arrangements. They also said that Mystica didn’t bring up any concerns during her stay at the resort.
“There is absolutely no truth to Mystica’s claim that she did not know that she will be staying in a resort for the duration of the lock-in taping. Prior to the scheduled lock-in taping, all artists were already informed about the set-up as well as their room arrangements – to which Mystica did not bring up any concerns. She entered the lock-in taping on November 16,” wrote the Owe My Love team.
Roommate with Kiray Celis
Another concern she brought up was having a roommate while other artists had their own rooms. At this time, they assigned a room to her with Kiray Celis whom she didn’t know.
“Sabi ko, ‘I don’t like Kiray.’ Pero ang privacy ko talaga, importante sa buong buhay ko ang privacy ko. Sa buong buhay ko, never ako nagkaroon ng roommate. Kahit sa bahay ko, sa mansion ko, kahit maraming tao, may sarili akong kuwarto. Ito pa kaya, Kiray na hindi ko alam kung ano ang category niya?” said Mystica.
Then Owe My Love team answered that they with communicated her in advance and they placed the names of the assigned occupants. They also said that Kiray entered the lock-in taping on November 19, three days after Mystica. Mystica complained the same night at 11 pm demanding that she have her own room. Since it was in the middle of the night, the production team could not accommodate her right away but was able to provide her own room the following morning of November 20.
“With regard to her sharing the room with Kiray, this was communicated to her in advance as well. The door of their room was clearly labeled with the name of the assigned occupants–Kiray and Mystica. Kiray entered the lock-in taping on November 19, three days after Mystica. But that same night at 11 pm, Mystica complained and demanded that she be given her own room. Due to the lateness of the hour, production could not accommodate this immediately. But the following morning (November 20), she was transferred to her own room,” wrote Owe My Love team.
Food Arrangements
In her vlog, Mystica also complained about the 70 production staff near the room she transferred to wherein she claimed that no one even bothered to bring the food to her. She also added that it wasn’t about the food, it was because they forgot to accommodate her.
“Okay Mystica, Me’ron na pero doon sa kabila nandoon yung mga staff, 70 staff yung nandoon, ikaw lang yung artista nandoon, that’s fine. O Eto na, 70 staff pala yung nandoon eh bakit hindi man lang nila maisabi kahit isang tao na ‘okay bago tayo pumunta sa shooting, ikaw you are assign na bigyan ng pagkain si Mystica, para hindi sya maiwan na hindi kumain.’ So nag-ano ako sa GC, asan po ang pagkain ko kasi ano pupunta na ako sa shooting tapos hindi pa ko kumakain, pero marami ako pagkain. That’s not the point eh. Di ba? Yung nakalimutan nila ako,” said Mystica.
Owe My Love answered this claim noting that they didn’t take Mystica for granted. The team explained that they brought the food to the assigned standby area for artists but that they can deliver to the artists upon request. They wrote that on Saturday morning, they informed Mystica about the breakfast at Artists’ tent at the filming location. They wrote that she then complained so two production staff members were assigned to bring her the meals.
“There is also no truth to Mystica’s claim that she was ‘taken for granted.’ As part of the house rules, food is usually brought to the assigned area where artists are on standby. But upon request, this can also be delivered to the artist. Mystica was informed on Saturday that breakfast will be at the Artists’ tent in the shoot location, not at the hotel where she was billeted. She was also informed that her breakfast was for pick up from one of the standby tents. She complained about this set-up so the next day, two production staff were assigned to bring the meals to her.”
Breach of Protocol
Owe My Love team decided to ask Mystica to leave the lock-in taping on November 23, due to her violating the program’s safety protocol on November 22, in which the resort allowed her son to drive inside the premises and personally hand out groceries to her without the program’s permission. But before they could ask her, the team then found out that she had already packed her belongings and was ready to leave.
“In addition, Mystica violated the program’s safety protocols last November 22 when she told the guard at the resort to allow her son to drive inside the premises. He got out of the vehicle and personally handed Mystica some groceries. This was done without the program’s permission.
“As a result of this serious breach of protocol, the program decided to ask Mystica to leave the lock-in taping on November 23. But when the show’s Executive Producer met with her that morning, she was already packed and ready to leave. The production assisted her until she left at around 8:30 am,” wrote Owe My Love Team.
Mystica confirmed that her son withdrew money from her personal account for her personal needs and her own food which amounted to Php 22,000.
“Nuong una nag-withdraw yung anak ko ng Php 7,000, dahil sabi ko magmula ngayon ikaw taga hawak ng ATM ko. After that nag-withdraw ulit sya ng 5’, and then after that, nagwithdraw ulit sya ng 5′, then after that nag-withdraw ulit sya ng 5′. Umabot ng 22,000 na ang nagagastos ko para lang magkaroon lang ako ng ano mang pangangailangan ko sa kwarto ko plus mga pagkain,” said Mystica.
Finally, the Owe My Love team wrote that they are doing their best to make all artists comfortable while adhering to safety protocols.
“Owe My Love is doing its best to help make all artists comfortable but it also continues to strictly adhere to the protocols set by GMA Network as well as the concerned government agencies to ensure the safety and well-being of all its artists and production staff,” said Owe My Love.
