JoRox and KarJon give their definition of the concept of love teams.
In the previous episode of I Feel U, hosted by Toni Gonzaga, the tandems pointed out the difference between love teams of different generations.
Roxanne Guinoo, the female counterpart of Joross Gamboa (JoRox), admitted that friendship is important for every love team. She advised other on-screen tandems to keep their connection, solely professional as possible.
She noted the struggle if a love team is a real-life couple. That if they will have a personal problem, it may affect their on-screen connection.
“Kasi masyadong mahirap, eh. Kunwari nagkaroon kayo ng issue sa totoong buhay tapos meron kayong ginagampanan, minsan nagkakaroon ng masamang epekto talaga, hindi mo ma-portray nang maayos ‘yung mga roles. So, mas maganda talaga kung friendship. Huwag maging marupok,” she said.
The JoRox love team began in Star Circle Quest in 2004, where they eventually became one of the prominent tandems.
They also became a real-life couple but eventually separated. Despite their past, they make sure that their friendship remains.
Roxanne and Joross are both married and already have their respective families.
On the other hand, the young artists Aljon Mendoza and Karina Bautista paired as ‘KarJon’ is one of the current generation’s biggest love teams.
Like Roxanne, Karina believes in the importance of being friends with your on-screen partner.
“Malaking bagay po ‘yun kapag magkasundo kayo off-cam at nagtutulungan po kami. Siyempre, nakaka- insipire ‘yun, gaganahan ka pong magtrabaho,” she said.
They also admitted that there is pressure from their supporters who expect them to end up together.
“Noong una, hindi ko po alam kung paano i-handle hanggang sa nagtagal, sila din naman, ‘yung mga sumusuporta sa amin, tanggap nila na mas friends kami. Doon din sila mas happy kasi dito kami komportable,” Aljon said.
Aljon believes that enduring bad times together is the definition of love while Karina said that it is about giving efforts to let your partner that he or she is worth being loved.
The Aljon and Karina tandem started during their stint in Pinoy Big Brother Otso.
The JoRox love team will have their on-screen comeback with the series Hoy! Love You!, directed by Theodore Boborol beginning January 18. The KarJon will also be part of the said series which can be streamed for free on iWantTFC.
