Singer Morissette revealed that she is engaged to her boyfriend Dave Lamar despite not resolving her family problem.
Last year, Morissette was involved in a controversy when her father Amay Amon ranted online. Amay speculated that Morissette left her family just to be with her boyfriend.
Amay also accused Lamar of destroying their family and using his daughter for fame.
Recently, the singer admitted that she and her family did not yet settle their conflict. Her family remained against her relationship with Lamar.
“Hindi pa rin okay for my family but at the same time we are just learning to accept the season. Kasi ako I’m still reaching out to them and I understand basta ako I’m just lifting it all up to God,” she said.
Despite this, Morissette confirmed that she and Lamar have been engaged since September. Accordingly, the engagement happened on the rooftop of her new condo unit.
“We had a thing for rooftops. Picture-picture kami doon… So sabi niya tumalikod ka na… Pag-ikot, ayun, nakaluhod na po siya,” she narrated.
“So we got engaged in September… Kasi I want to tell the people close to me first. And actually, the very first people who found out about the engagement was my family,” she said.
Lamar and Morissette met in the singing competition, The Voice of The Philippines, wherein they became friends and eventually lovers. They broke up after more than a year but reunited as a couple.
Morissette did not disclose any wedding details yet.
