Angeline Quinto and Jona, two of Kapamilya divas are bringing back the classic OPM tunes via the series Huwag Kang Mangamba and Init sa Magdamag as official theme songs of the newest ABS-CBN shows of the same titles.
A religious song, Huwag Kang Mangamba, as sung by the country’s Queen of Teleserye Theme Songs, Angeline proved with her striking voice, she can bring a much fresher take on the piece.
The original version, composed by Fr. Manoling Francisco S.J., and now produced by ABS-CBN creative director Jonathan Manalo.
Aside from lending her voice for the theme song of the Dreamscape Entertainment production, she joins the Gold Squad-–Andrea Brillantes, Francine Diaz, Seth Fedelin, and Kyle Echarri. The series will showcase God’s unconditional love through the intertwined fate of a blind orphan Mira (Brillantes) and rebellious teen Joy (Diaz) who experience Bro’s miracle after escaping death.
Meanwhile, Jona’s emotion-packed rendition of Init sa Magdamag, which was composed by Willy Cruz and popularized by Sharon Cuneta, further heats the upcoming eponymous romance-drama series produced by Star Creatives.
The daring ABS-CBN series led by Gerald Anderson, Yam Concepcion, and JM De Guzman will revolve around an intriguing storyline that weaves politics and romance and is also set to air this summer.
Over the years, Angeline and Jona have both been frequently tapped to sing the official theme songs of various ABS-CBN teleseryes.
Jona was the voice behind the OST of Ngayon at Kailanman and Pusong Ligaw and she also sang Dahil Mahal Na Mahal Kita for the series Asintado.
Some of Angeline’s memorable renditions include the OST of You’re My Home, Sana Bukas Pa Ang Kahapon, and the song Hanggang Kailan Kita Mamahalin for the hit drama The Legal Wife.
