March 2020 – Singapore – San Holo has shared a unique new video to accompany his recently released single “find your way (Feat. Bipolar Sunshine)”. Directed by THUNDERLIPS, a multi-award winning duo based in Auckland, New Zealand who has worked with the likes of Two Door Cinema Club, the eye-catching visuals are a mesmerising 80’s VHS inspired journey through dreamlike behind the scenes film sets and studios.

Speaking of the video, San Holo says, “What really drew me to THUNDERLIPS’s vision is how they were able to creatively pull off a performance video even though Bipolar Sunshine and I are on opposite sides of the planet. I love the museum-like feel of the video with all of the unique and dynamic shots. Hope you enjoy this little trip!”
With San based in Amsterdam, Bipolar Sunshine in LA and THUNDERLIPS in New Zealand, the video is cleverly pieced together across three continents. THUNDERLIPS comments On the technicalities of creating a video during the lockdown, THUNDERLIPS shares, “’Definitely not a lockdown video’ lockdown video shot in a stiflingly hot warehouse in New Zealand and remotely in the US and The Netherlands – a collaboration between people from three continents to create a visual skewing of perception to accompany Find Your Way. Probably one of the most challenging videos we’ve embarked upon, brimming over with technical, practical and creative hurdles that through blind luck, the kindness of strangers and obscure YouTube tutorials were ultimately vanquished, leaving us with what we think is a pretty sweet music video”
The bold visuals reflect a new indie alternative direction we see from San Holo on the forthcoming album ‘bb u ok?’, out 21st May on Counter Records. “find your way (Feat. Bipolar Sunshine)” is the most recent single to be released from the album and received support from the likes of Billboard, Dancing Astronaut and EDM.com to name a few. It is an ode to staying optimistic and positive during hard times, a theme that runs throughout the album.
Bringing people together is at the core of San’s music. His ‘stay vibrant’ philosophy – a concept which encourages people to be in touch with their own thoughts and feelings, as well as to check-in with each other by rating their vibrancy with a percentage, has created a strong sense of community amongst his fans (over 1.5 million followers across platforms).
Through his career, San has established a sizeable and loyal fanbase in Asia. Since 2016, he’s toured through the region annually, playing at the biggest clubs and festivals. In 2019, his world tour included 75 shows and sold over 100,000 tickets across the globe, including performances in Asia including Malaysia (Good Vibes Festival), Singapore (Zouk) and Indonesia (We The Fest). His plans to return to Asia to perform at Hydeout Festival in Singapore and S20 Festival in Bangkok in 2020 were unfortunately thwarted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
