Crystal Voice of Asia Sheryn Regis felt overwhelmed with Star Music’s welcome, adding that she returned to her “First Love.”
In an interview for her homecoming single, Tulad ng Dati, Sheryn highlights the overwhelming welcome from Star Music. She also recounted how she felt when she performed here in the Philippines.
“I’m overwhelmed. It was amazing because you know why? I have wanted (been wanting) this for ten years since I’ve left. Because, you know, aside from my depression, na iba kasi ‘yung nagpe-perform dito, iba ‘yung nag-rerecord ka dito. At binalikan ko yung first love ko talaga.
“Iba pa rin yung pinanggalingan ko, at syempre Star Music pa, na dito talaga ako nang-galing,” said Sheryn.
She added that she feels blessed that Star Music still believes in her.
“I’m so glad, and I feel so blessed, and you know, it’s Star Music. Star Music is there to still believe in my talent, and I’m so glad,” said Sheryn.
As for her music, Sheryn said that she wants to explore and focus on her craft.
“Ako, I’m expecting more about the music. I have to explore a lot and focus on my craft right now. And, syempre, ‘yung pagtulong sa akin ng March On Entertainment, ‘di ko rin magawa ‘to kung wala sila, ‘yung management ko. Of course, itong Star Music na nagha-handle din sa akin,” said Sheryn.
She also hints at an album release and hopes for a digital concert.
“Of course, magkakaroon tayo ng album.”
“Oy, gusto rin yan. (Digital Concert),” said Sheryn.
As for her journey as an artist, Sheryn recounted her learnings throughout the years. She also echoed her passion for singing during the interview.
“Madami talaga, from my personal life, to the experience on stage, syempre sa lahat ng tao nakasalamuha ko all over the world, and syempre dito din sa Pilipinas, ang dami.
“Nasa puso ko talaga, ang pag-kanta. Hindi ko siya maiwan-iwan. ‘Yan ang aking certainty is my passion in singing,” said Sheryn.
ABS-CBN Music creative director Jonathan Manalo said that Sheryn remained a loyal Kapamilya despite her hiatus from showbiz.
“Kahit naman nagpahinga si Sheryn, she remained loyal as a Kapamilya. Remained loyal to ABS-CBN and Star Music,” said Jonathan.
He also said that they feel confident with Sheryn’s comeback because of her timeless talent.
“Confident kami na may babalikan si Sheryn kasi siya rin yung tipo ng artist na hindi siya ‘yung uso lang. Siya ‘yung artist na kumbaga, ‘yung ginagawa niya, ‘yung style ng music ni Sheryn, ito ‘yung tinatawag natin na timeless,” said Jonathan.
Sheryn released Tulad ng Dati as her homecoming single Star Music. Sheryn was in the first season of ABS-CBN’s Star In A Million in the early 2000s, arguably the most successful batch of the reality TV singing competition.
