Singer Jayda Avanzado admits feeling the ‘pressure’ from her parents–Dingdong Avanzado and Jessa Zaragosa’s successes.
In the virtual press conference for Star Magic Workshops for 2021, Avanzado admitted that she does feel the ‘pressure’ because of her parent’s successes.
However, she uses it as motivation to pursue her passion for music, “Sa totoo lang po, mayroon din pong pressure ang masasabi ko. Pero ginagamit ko po yun bilang parang isang motivation rin po sa akin para mas mahasa pa ako sa aking craft.”
To help her pursue her craft, she seeks help from the ABS-CBN Star Magic Workshops. She began her pursuit in 2014 at 11-years-old and went through workshops under Star Magic Head of Artist Training and Workshops–Director Rahyan Carlos.
“With Star Magic Workshops po, I go back as early as 2014 po, bata pa po ako noon. I was about 11 years old when I first went through the voice and dance workshops. But I first started working with Direk Rahyan back in 2019.”
As she prepared for her directorial debut for the music video of her first Tagalog single, Paano Kung Naging Tayo, she went through acting workshops under Star Magic.
“It was my first time directing a music video for my first-ever Tagalog single, yung Paano Kung Naging Tayo, which I wrote.
“Ako po ang bumuo ng konsepto na po yun. It was my first acting project ever.”
The workshops also helped her create chemistry with actor Rhys Miguel for her music video, which she attributes to Director Carlos.
“And aside from acting just on my own, I had the challenge of creating chemistry with a stranger. Someone that I had never met before. Ang aking leading man po sa music video, si Rhys Miguel. I have to say po talaga na I attribute a lot of it to Direk Rahyan po.”
Avanzado, daughter of Avanzado and Zaragosa, entered the showbiz industry through music. She curtain-raised for Niall Horan concert in Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena in 2018. Recently, she released her music, Paano Kung Naging Tayo, and followed up with the music video soon after, which showcased her acting talent.
