Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto thanked Kapamilya stars Anne Curtis and Angel Locsin for donating P1M to Pasig even without the knowledge of the media or “without fanfare.”
According to an article by ABS-CBN, Vico Sotto showed his gratitude to the said actresses for their efforts in helping against the COVID-19.
“Dinonate nila ito walang fanfare, walang media. Ni hindi nga kami nagkita. Iniwan lang nila ‘yung tseke,” he said via a facebook live video on Monday, April 12.
The Pasig mayor then offered his gratitude to all the people who are extending their help to others without expecting anything in return saying:Â “Thank you sa lahat nang tumutulong, nagmamalasakit, alam ko man o hindi.”
He said that he will put the donated money into good use as he is aiming for the procurement of COVID-19 vaccines for the city of Pasig.
“I-earmark lang po natin kasi sa ngayon wala pa pong bagong manufacturer na puwedeng pag-orderan,” said Sotto.
“Hopefully, dumating na by third o fourth quarter.”Â
In a separate article by ABS-CBN, it was announced that Mayor Vico Sotto has ordered Pasig City about 400,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses developed by British pharmaceutical firm AstraZeneca.
Sotto aims to inoculate 700,000 of Pasig City’s 1 million residents.
They previously raised about P6 million through a celebrity auction where they donated the proceeds to the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) and five other local governments, including Pasig City.
