With both being social media goddesses, Kaka star Sunshine Guimary reacted to her comparison with Ivana Alawi.
In the media conference for the upcoming Vivamax sexy comedy movie Kaka, Guimary said although people compare her to Alawi, she doesn’t want the competition. She is thankful for the comparison still.
“Ayaw ko ng kompetisyon. Kung ano yung kaya kong gawin, paghirapan ko yun, at ie-earn ko yun sa trabaho. Masaya ako kasi ibang level si Ivana. Thankful na rin ako sa part na ako yung kinukumpara. Masaya na ako sa part na yun na kinukumpura ako sa kanya.”
Both women gained popularity through social media, which helped them bloom into the mainstream showbiz industry.
Although both having an active social media presence before they became popular, Alawi had experienced her taste of showbiz fame through StarStruck. However, Alawi jumpstarted her career through her active social media presence and YouTube vlogs.
For Guimary, she began as a Cebuana vlogger known as the “Braless Goddess.” During the media conference, she also recounted her social media beginnings through her lingerie posts on Instagram.
“I started sa IG ako na-discover. Unprepared ako.
“About myself, simpleng mamamayan. Simple lang ako na nagu-upload ng mga sexy lingerie, yun lang. Ganon lang ka-simple.”
Now Guimary top bills the upcoming sexy comedy Kaka with Jerald Napoles and Ion Perez. Directed by award-winning director GB Sampedro. The cast also includes Giselle Sanchez, Maui Taylor, Rosanna Roces, and Gina Pareño.
The sexy comedy movie brings the summer heat to your Vivamax streaming platform on May 28.
