ABS-CBN continues to establish its lead on the digital world, as more Kapamilya shows dominate various streaming platforms. With its aggressive expansion efforts, new milestones are created for the now franchise-less Network, following its 2020 shutdown.
As of this writing, ABS-CBN Primetime programs FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, Huwag Kang Mangamba, and Init Sa Magdamag—are all charting on WeTV and iFlix’s top 10 most-watched shows, with Init Sa Magdamag reigning over all other programs on the said platforms.
Last night, June 1, the five-year-old action series attracted more than 137,000 concurrent live viewers on Kapamilya Online Live on Youtube, breaking the record set by the previous episode.
The Coco Martin-starrer remained a record-breaking frenzy for the last few weeks, with the new highest concurrent viewership record being set by the show almost every night.
The new series, He’s Into Her, aired its first episode on A2Z Channel 11 and Kapamilya Channel on Sunday, May 30. It showed a great potential to duplicate FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’s popularity.
This early, it has already made several milestones like becoming the most-watched show on the Kapamilya streaming platform, iWantTFC. Previously, the app crashed due to the overwhelming number of users using the site during the show’s online launch, two days before its TV debut.
ABS-CBN looks poised to continue making record-setting feats online, as it further amplifies its bid to reach more audiences through various streaming platforms.
Apart from FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano is predicted to outlive its 17th rival Kapuso show. He’s Into Her, is a show with great promise to become a teen romance craze. The Kapamilya Network will deliver new content with potential breakout hits.
Interestingly, ABS-CBN’s solidifying lead online, eclipses the current digital and streaming boom, in the country. As more and more viewers choose streaming platforms as their primary mode of content consumption, more entertainment content[s] expected to rival traditional TV productions. ABS-CBN aggressively turned the trend in its favor. To its credit, and despite having no franchise–it is still ‘extremely’ beneficial.
ABS-CBN is currently back on free TV through its block time deals with free TV channels, A2Z Channel 11 and TV5.
