As the effects of the pandemic eases and the government relaxes community quarantine restrictions to allow Filipinos to travel more, GCash, the country’s no. 1 mobile wallet app, and Airasia, the world’s best low-cost airline and Asean’s growing superapp, has announced their timely partnership to deliver safety and convenience to travelers when paying for their flight, hotel bookings and travel retail items.

The partnership will let customers pay for their Airasia plane fare and accommodation in partner hotels simply by using the GCash apps on their mobile phones. They can also opt for contactless payment using the GCash app at airasia counters. Plus, there’s a host of exciting offers and discounts that await customers to mark the launch of this partnership.

“At GCash, we have pioneered a number of digital payment innovations to help Filipinos during the pandemic, and this partnership with Airasia is a continuation of its thrust to provide users with safe and convenient payment solutions. Airasia supports this thrust as it continues to provide its customers with convenience and safety when flying with them,” said Martha Sazon, GCash President and Chief Executive Officer. “With this partnership, GCash users can now enjoy exclusive exciting promo offers from airasia.”

For Airasia, which has made flying accessible to a greater number of Filipinos through its low-cost plane fare offers, the partnership will bring safe and affordable travel even more within reach of Pinoys through the exciting promo offers and discounts that will be available exclusively to GCash’s over 40 million users.

“Providing convenience through digital and contactless solutions while observing the highest standards of safety has always been Airasia’s commitment to our guests. Our partnership with Gcash, the country’s leading e-wallet empowers our guests with flexible cashless options as we all gear up to fly again to our favorite leisure destinations. This is also an added convenience that makes the airasia super app even more appealing to the consumer as the fastest growing super app in Asean. We look forward to strengthening this partnership with GCash as airasia continues to embark on its journey to becoming more than just an airline,” said Ricky Isla, airasia Philippines chief executive officer.

Customers booking flights on Airasia can secure mobile payments online through the GCash app, via the airasia super app or by logging on to airasia.com. On the airasia website, they can select their flights and add-ons and proceed to the payment page where they can pay via GCash on the “Wallet” tab. GCash can also be used to pay for airasia shop purchases such as travel essentials.

Customers can also use the GCash app to pay at airasia check-in counters nationwide when paying for their additional luggage, meals, and other add-ons when checking in. They can simply open the GCash app, scan the QR code, enter the amount, and pay.

As a treat, customers can enjoy 20% off on Airasia flight bookings for June 7, 2021 if payment is made through GCash and an extra 10% off for flights with the booking period from June 8 to 13, 2021.

What’s more, customers can enjoy an extra ten percent (10%) for the flight portion on SNAP and partner hotels with the booking period from June 7 until June 13, 2021. For partner hotels, an additional P500 discount can be availed of by the first 100 customers with a minimum purchase of P5,000.

To avail of the Airasia promos, simply type in the promo code, AAGCASH, and the discount will automatically be applied. GCash will appear as the payment option and you just have to enter your GCash number, PIN, and OTP, and you’re all set to travel the world safely!

Also, for the whole month of June, Airasia shop is running a mid-year sale of up to 70% off discount on fashion, fragrance and skincare products. Guests can conveniently pay with their GCash and avail of these limited time promo.
