President Rodrigo Duterte seemed not yet over with ABS-CBN even though he was already successful in shutting down the network.
In a recent press conference, Duterte lashed out against ABS-CBN anew after Kapamilya reporter Joyce Balansio asked him about his possible Vice Presidential bid.
An obvious irate Duterte then responded in an adversarial tone accusing ABS-CBN of wanting his to lose the Vice Presidential race if ever.
“You are from ABS-CBN? So ABS-CBN is expecting me to lose because they will campaign against me?” Duterte said.

Balancio then disagreed with Duterte saying she’s just following up on the story about PDP-Laban and Duterte’s own statement regarding his possible VP bid.

Duterte has been publicly professing his disgust against the Kapamilya network. His public pronouncements against the network have signaled Congress not to immediately act on its franchise renewal and subsequently resulted in the denial of the franchise application.
Duterte in his several speeches has also proudly claimed that he’s instrumental in dismantling ABS-CBN which was carried out by his Congressional allies led by former Speaker Alan Cayetano.
ABS-CBN has been in shutdown since May 2020 after NTC issued cease and desist order against them and the subsequent franchise denial by the 70 Cayetano-led congressmen in July 2020.
