Kapamilya heartthrob Daniel Padilla shared that Kathryn Bernardo is his anchor. For him, the actress is his stable support all the time.
In a YouTube vlog with Boy Abunda for his Purple Chair interview, Padilla noted that if he were a ship, Bernardo would be his anchor.
“I am a ship and she is my anchor. Kaya ako steady, kasi nandiyan ‘yung Kathryn para sa akin. Ganun ‘yung relationship. Kailangan ko ‘yung tao na ‘yun. Mahal ko siya at kailangan ko siya,” he said.
The couple is together for more than nine years now and they are known to be one of the strongest loveteams in the Kapamilya Network.
When asked about their secret to having fruitful years together, the actor said that they give importance to their ‘personal’ time and space.
“I am no expert naman. I just think she’s the love of my life. I think that’s it. Just give each other time. Like me, kakagaling ko lang ng Boracay.
Binigyan niya ako ng time with my friends at saka kapatid ko. Ganun lang, bigyan natin ng oras din ‘yung mga sarili natin.
“I think ‘yun iyon, huwag natin sakalin ang isa’t isa. Lalo sa industry namin. Ako hindi ko maiiwasan na in the future, magkakaroon na naman siya ng ibang partner. Ako, magkakaroon ako. ‘Yun ‘yung mga sitwasyon na mahirap din sa isang relasyon. Dahil ako as a person, siyempre kung may choice ako, papayag ba ako na may partner? Hindi no! Ako lang ang pwedeng humawak sa kamay ng nobya ko. Pero nandito tayo sa industriyang ito,” he stressed.
Padilla also said that he still gets excited to see Bernardo despite being together for almost a decade already.
“Sa work, kami ang magkasama. After work, kami pa rin ang magkasama. ‘Yung beautiful dito is I am always excited to see Kathryn,” he confessed.
KathNiel celebrated their 9th anniversary on September 4, 2020, where they relayed a video message of appreciation for their fans who supported them all these years.
The couple is set to star in a TV series and a movie but Padilla confirmed that their series will be the first to be released.
Their latest project was the online series, The House Arrest of Us, which premiered in October 2020.
It also made its debut on Netflix in February 2021, which previously held the number one spot in Netflix Philippines’ top ten most-watched content in the country.
